Will it hurt a person to take tramadol while taking methadone?

Christena

methadone is a narcotic blocker. tramadol is not a narcotic, but is used for pain

Janelle

I wouldn't do it. I know they're both pretty powerful and both mood altering. I know that junkies use both so I would not combine them together, you really shouldn't need to. Methadone is usually used when someone is trying to get off drugs. Tramadol may not be a narcotic and may not be controlled but it probably should be as it definately alters the mood.

Emil

should be fine. is a narcotic tho.. a U-opiate agonist. tramadol isnt an antagonist at all so it wont put u in withdrawal.. be careful man. there is no interaction besides being really drugged up... its funny, cuz i was in ur situation like 5 years ago and had a ton of it and didnt know if i could.. i was scared it was an antagonist... never ended up taking it.. and luckily i dont take anything now.

How long do tramadol withdrawal symptoms last?

Meghann

I stopped using tramadol cold turkey (after heavy use for about a month) about 3 and a half weeks ago and I have no more actual withdrawals but I still feel severly depressed. I was not nearly this depressed before I started using tramadol. The week after I stopped I had thoughts of suicide, the depression was so bad. So how much longer is this depression supposed to last? Anyone have any insight on this?

Taunya

Tramadol is an opiate painkiller that is a derivative of heroin. It is a very difficult addiction to break, which is why so many people stay hooked. I'm not saying you are addicted, but it sounds like physically you were dependent upon the drug. The acute withdrawal usually lasts no more than a week, but mentally can last much longer. There is what is called PAW (post acute withdrawal) which for long-term users can last up to a year. Since you were only using a month, I would say you should start feeling better very soon.Basically you are flooding your system with a drug that makes you feel good. Your body gets used to it and needs it to feel normal. When you remove that, things get thrown out of whack.Congrats on quitting and good luck to you. It will get better, I promise.

Ellen

Tramadol isn't a heroin derivative. Heroin is made by acetylizing morphine from opium; Tramadol doesn't even come from the opium poppy! Those thinking of going cold-turkey from any opiate addiction should seek a physician. A doctor can help you taper your dose without any discomfort.

Heriberto

Tramadol has nothing to do with opiates, however is can be addictive. it is not a controlled substance as of yer, however the dea is considering changing that.

I have left over ultramtramadol from a root canal i had over a year ago?

Nancey

If i get randomly selected for a drug test is the prescription still vaild .i do not regularly take any kind of pain killers but i am having back issues and they seem to help but do not want to risk my job .

Kanisha

It will show up as an opioid and in my opinion, as someone who has been responsible for evaluating drug test results, if you had an old prescription and used it for pain occasionally, that would not be considered failing the test.

Does anyone know the effects on a body from tramadol and beer?

Bertie

please this is not a joke I drink about 6 to 7 beers a day and I take 300 mg of tramadol a day I need answers if anyone has taken this med before

Janee

Nausea, vomiting and sweating. Drowsiness is reported, although it is less of an issue compared to other opioids. Dude your taking to depressants. You could seriously not wake-up tomorrow. But, 300mg in fact of dosage is not that much. Seizures have been reported in humans receiving excessive single oral doses (700 mg) or large intravenous doses (300 mg).But you might want to stop. I dont know if your familiar with rap or anything but tramadol mixed with something else (i forget) was what killed ODB 'old dirty bastard'. Take medications with water or some other type of beverage. Why are you taking it? Do you have seizures? Are you epileptic? Well, anyway I hope everything works out for you and you don't have any adverse affects. Take care.

Ann

Tramadol adds to the effects of alcohol and other depressants.Don't mix pain medications and alcohol. Not only can it have bad effects, but it can be hell to play on your poor liver.

Aurore

The main concern with mixing pain meds with alcohol is the workload of the liver. I would suggest choosing one or the other until you can get a doctors advice.Your liver probably cannot handle this amount on a consistant basis.
