How effective is tramadol for pain?

Belia

Got a prescription from the doc to take with my vicodin. Just wondering if it's good for pain? Thanks in advance.

Ericka

I have Spondilolthesis Ive been taking tramadol (ultram) for 8 months. Alone it's ok, 7 out of 10 but if your taking it with vicodin you should be right as rain....lol

Elane

It is good for mild to moderate pain and does work on the opiate receptors. I would try and limit the use of Vicodin though. You will build up a tolerace to this and over time it becomes less effective. I have seen too many people get into trouble with this. Good Luck.

Is it safe for my husband to take tramadol if hes on paxil or itraconazole?

Adrienne

My husband has Histoplasmosis and is taking Itraconazole for the treatment. The ER doctor just prescribed Tramadol for pain in legs.

Jerica

When you go to fill the prescription, talk to your Chemist about all the medications your husband takes. The Chemist is your best resource for this type of question. Also ask if your husband should avoid any foods, like grapefruit for example. Some medications are affectly badly by grapefruit.

Antony

The pharmacy will give you the best answer. I think they can be co-administered. It never hurts to get the opinion of a pharmacist. And the previous answer was actually right on the money when it comes to grapefruit. It actually causes a mild interaction with Tramadol and several other meds.

Does tramadol cause you to bleed between periods?

Alden

Sometimes when I m on Tramadol, my period becomes irregular and its hard to poop. Is this bc of the tram?

Dortha

The constipation definitely is. Tramadol is a opioid painkiller, and unfortunately, all of these have constipation as a side-effect. Try taking Colace or something similar.I don't think your period being irregular could be directly linked to the tramadol, though. I've taken it before and it was never a problem for me, except once, and I hadn't been eating well because of the medication. You might want to take a look at your diet, because that can cause irregular or missed periods.
