When i take tramadol it makes me itch is that normal?

Alita

i have been taking tramadol a pain killer for my back. when i take it i start to itch all over my body. does anyone know why it is making me do this?

Rosaria

No this is not normal. It really sounds like you are allergic to it. Does it make your throat feel swelled? I would tell your doc and stop taking it until you hear from them.

Deidre

It doesn't appear to be a side effect:SIDE EFFECTS: Tramadol is generally well tolerated, and side effects are usually transient. Commonly reported side effects include nausea, constipation, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and vomiting. Less commonly reported side effects include itching, sweating, dry mouth, diarrhea, rash, visual disturbances, and vertigo. Some patients who received tramadol have reported seizures. Abrupt withdrawal of tramadol may result in anxiety, sweating, insomnia, rigors, pain, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, and hallucinations.Perhaps it's combining with something else you're taking? you might want to check with your doctor right away.

Denita

your allergic to it talk to ur doctor about it and tell him about ur back pain

Barry

You're having a allergic reaction to the medication.

Gertrud

How can i find out if tramadol is suitable for vicodin withdrawal?

Chantell

currently dependent on vicodin. is tramadol an opiate also? i am trying to decrease.

Joella

Not really the same thing. You can safely call your pharmacy, or any pharmacy, and ask any question without telling them your name. Do not say that you are dependent on vicodin, as they will not want to discuss this issue. You can quit taking vicodin completely, it is not very difficult, just takes about two days. If you stop completely, the side effects are not too bad. Tramadol is same *** Ultram and has bad side effects, especially seizures. You should not substitute one with another, as this will not help you to achieve your goal of decreasing dependency.Honest about this: Try eating beef jerky in place of the pills, you will be surprised.

Alexia

Don't know if I'm too late. In the same boat and short answer is yes - you can use tramadol as a replacement for Vicodin. It won't be the same - and you will get some of the effects - but it will let you sleep at night. I know for a fact that that is an extreme relief for me...

Elliot

No. do NOT use trammadol. its will cause withdrawl symptoms to occur, and increase. I was taking it for 7 months, and JUST stopped a few days ago. I am now going throgy massive withdralws and its horrible. Quitting vicodin cold turkey is much safer, and will cause less withdrawl. Talk to your doc!!

How is tramadol different than hydrocodone?

Carlotta

i had bad headaches and dizzyness everytime after taking hydrocodone that still havent even fully gone away. the last i took was one week ago (was told i was more than likely allergic) now im on tramadol but i havent taken it yet. how is this different? how does the dr know i wont be allergic to this one? im scared of taking it, being allergic to it and my brain swelling up and dying or something.tramadol apap 37.5mg/325mg tabs

Elisha

There is a big difference between the two. You are unlikely to have as many side effects from the tramadol. Although tramadol is an opiate it is different than other opiates and is considered an analgesic. That is why it does not contain Tylenol. Tramadol is a lot less addictive and gives longer lasting relief. It is sold over the counter in many coutries.

Ashlee

tramadol is a non-narcotic pain reliever, i used it for back pain and was able to take it at work.

Adaline

tramadol is not a narcotic like the hydrocodone is but its good for pain

Edgardo

your brain won't swell, it will just turn to jelleyMy wife felt this happening after long term use.Alergies are a tricky thing. She is allergic to codine but not hydrocodone
