Currently, the treatment of trigeminal neuralgia is very much divided into three categories. These three methods is recognized as an effective way at home and abroad.
The first is drug treatment, mainly for patients with oral medication, the most important drug called carbamazepine; the drug is effective for many patients.
The second method is minimally invasive treatment, also known as a half section of the trigeminal nerve radiofrequency ablation. This is a half section to the trigeminal nerve into a very fine needle RF, the tip can be heated to 70 to 80 degrees, so that half the protein within the ganglion slight variability, so that pain signals can not be conducted.
The third method is functional neurosurgery, also called microvascular decompression. It is in the back of the head to lift the blood vessels of the trigeminal cranial nerve compression. These three methods for different levels of pain patients can be used separately.
