Each year, thousands of people decide to take action to correct the poor positioning of their teeth. For many, this is probably due to avoiding the metal braces that were available when they were younger. Now, with Invisalign, it is possible to correct the alignment of your teeth without the discomfort and embarrassment.
These clear braces are suitable for both adults and children and are available at most cosmetic dentists (I personally first discovered invisible braces in Ealing, at my local dentist who enthused about them.).
Of course, the obvious disadvantage with traditional braces is their appearance. Although they are now available in different colours which do at least make them a little more stylish, traditional braces still leave a mouth full of metal showing, something which most people will not find at all attractive. This is perhaps especially important for teenagers who will be going through a crucial period of their life where a lack of confidence can have significant ramifications later in life.
