Is it ok to take tums while on tramadol?

Tramadol makes me a little queezy is it ok to take a tums to get rid of my upset stomach?

Yes you can do that. If the Tramadol keeps making you queasy it may be too high a dose for you. I have had the same thing happen to me. I also had nausea for the first day or two when I began Tramadol. Now it doesn't affect me that way anymore.

Why is it bad to take tramadol or a painkiller with depressents?

There is a risk that Tramadol could cause seizures and this risk could be higher for a number of reasons, one being the use if antidepressants along side. So it is best not to take them both.If paracetamol is not strong enough for pain, I'd see a doctor and get them to prescribe or suggest something better.

I don't know about other painkillers (aspirin), but tramadol is an opiate based medicine, which I think acts as a anitdepressant also.
