Can you drink with tramadol and amityrptaline?

Nanette

I have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia and am on Tramadol and amitryptaline. I am celebrating my 60th birthday with a partyHas anyone been on these tablets, and can I drink with them please

Alfredo

I have taken Tramadol & Amitriptilene for my FM and was advised to avoid alcohol. I know everyone is different but I had too many side effects with even a low dose of the amitriptilene to continue taking it, however, my friend is on a high dose and she doesn't have any.

Natashia

always read the label. it shoudl tell you in the pamflet inside

Brent

best avoided due to the way in which tramadol works - but as 1st answerer said check the info that would have come with the tablets

Angila

You should avoid alcohol with both these drugs. With regards to Tramadol and Amitriptyline, these drugs can interact. Have you been prescribed these drugs to take together? There is an increased risk of seizures during co-administration of tramadol with SSRI's If it were, me I'd check with the pharmacist. Certainly this combination should be monitored closely.

Angelika

I believe it's best to avoid drinking with most medication of this sort, particularly the Tramadol, which when given to one of my dogs, spaced her out big time. I guess it depends on how much of a bender you intend to go on for your 60th really. Suggest you speak with your doc. as he may say it's okay provided you come off the medication for a period before, and probably after, the celebration.Congratulations by the way, and welcome to the world of free Bus passes, high Blood Pressure, Cholesterol, probably Type 2 diabetes and all the rest that happens when you reach this stage in life ...........Oh and these are two medications that I actually haven't been on since my graduation.

I would think that it isn't advisable but I would ask a pharmacist about this as they are the best people to know about adverse effects.

The difference between tramadol and ultram er?

Eugenio

I've been taking Tramadol 50 mg for a while, and recently my doctor prescribed me 14 Ultram ER 300mg, and says to take only one a day. Im wondering what are the difference between these two? Are they the same thing but one has more mg, or are they completely different? And which would be more effective?

Ressie

They are exactly the same drug but Ultram is slow release of 300mg across the day whereas 50mg of tramadol will only last you a few hours. If you have chronic pain, an extended release like Ultram is probably better, giving you a baseof pain relief across the day, rather than letting it build up. By the way, Paracetamol and Tramadol(or Ultram) work well together and do not interfere with each other.Add- yes but with the 50mg, your pain level will go up and down (according to when you took the tablet) so if it's long term pain, I would stick with one 300mg tablet a day.

Buford

It sounds like you have facial paralysis on one side only. If its caused by the drugs its an adverse reaction as it only affected 1 side and you may have had a stroke or you may be suffering from bells palsy. It could be another neuro condition.Either way you need to get yourself checked. Go to the ER or see your GP and bring the drugs you've taken with you.

Alfonzo

I'm sorry to hear that. May it pass quickly.

Chassidy

All prescription drugs can have negative effects and there are few if any studies to show what the interactions are when you mix them with other medications. What did the instructions from the pharmacy say, or did you just poach these from someone else? You should only use medications that were prescribed for you.You should contact your doctor to see what might be able to be done. In the meantime just hope you didn't do permanent damage. If you abusing drugs, get help.

Elicia

No but a stroke can.

How much does tramadol ussually go for?

Ethan

A prescription bottle of 120 costs $18.00 - $20.00. If your talking about the street price its about .50 cents a pill on the high end. Nobody really wants them because they are narcotic-like. I'm glad nobody likes them because that leaves more for me. I love em'.
