Tramadol pain killers after experation date?

I have a bottle of tramadol 50 mg. a pretty nice pain killer. it says use before 1/1/07 =/ what happens if i take on now? are they still good?

I couldnt see why not. Ive been on Morphine and Percocets for the past few years and I had some pills I left in a container in my drawer that I found a couple years after I got them and they worked just as good as new..

I wouldn't recommend taking any type of expired medication. But to get a proper and reliable answer, check with a pharmacist.

They won't be as effective, that is why they have a date on them at all. I'd throw them out. If you need to take a pain med then call your doctor to get a new prescription. You can get 50 Tramadol for only $4 at most stores so it's not like it's an expensive med to get.

I am allergic to coedine is it safe to take tramadol hcl 50 mg?

I will have need a hip replacement in Oct. gbut till then the pain is incredible. Am taking davrocet with little result. Doctor suggested tramadol but there is a warning if allergic to coedine. I am allergic to coedine.Can I take the tramadol or do you know of an other safe pain-killer, please.

Percodan? Vicodin? Ask your pharmacist about drug allergies and cross-reactions -- they know all of that stuff and they can recommend other pain killers for you to have your doctor prescribe.

It is NOT SAFE TO TAKE tramadol if there is a warning if allergic to coedine. When you were at the pharmacy, why didn't you ask the pharmacist about this. This is the pharmacists' responsibilities as well as your doctors.Did you tell your doctors that you are allergic to coedine?You need to tell your doctors, every time before he/she writes a prescription, because the doctors cannot remember everything.

I am allergic to coedine also, but have taken tramadol without any ill side affects. I would talk to Pharamacists about this today. But in my experience, did me good, not bad.You should talk to Dr. too. It all depends on what you were allergic too. IE, allergic to Tylenol 3 and cough meds w/ codiene but did ok with synthetics. Hopes this helps.
