Im taking tramadol for pain and have done for a while nowand ive started to develop inflamed spots? related

been taking tramadol for a few years..and recently seem to have developed acne like painfull spots that are big and inflamed..just wondered...if there could be any link?

nope.none whatsoever.'inflamed spots' sounds like an acute thing and 'for a few years' does not sound like your body is reacting to a 'new' thing called tramadol.if you want to be sure you should go get your prescription changed for different pain killiers.

Why is tramadol not a scheduled drug?

I think that tramadol could be such a addicting and dangerous drug, why isnt it classified as a narcotic?

Tramadol is not a classic opioid (morphine-like) analgesic. It does not have the same addictive or abusive potential as classic opioids.It does have it's own risks and contraindications (see PDR below).Overall, it is safer and with less abuse. I prescribe it frequently.

Because it isn't a narcotic. Tramadol actually acts like the drug Narcan when taken with narcotics. It can be habit forming, both physiologically and psychologically. You do need a prescription to get it, and the patient should be slowly weened of it.
