Is it safe for my husband to take tramadol if hes on paxil or itraconazole?

Adrienne

My husband has Histoplasmosis and is taking Itraconazole for the treatment. The ER doctor just prescribed Tramadol for pain in legs.

Jerica

When you go to fill the prescription, talk to your Chemist about all the medications your husband takes. The Chemist is your best resource for this type of question. Also ask if your husband should avoid any foods, like grapefruit for example. Some medications are affectly badly by grapefruit.

Antony

The pharmacy will give you the best answer. I think they can be co-administered. It never hurts to get the opinion of a pharmacist. And the previous answer was actually right on the money when it comes to grapefruit. It actually causes a mild interaction with Tramadol and several other meds.

If i got an extended release medicine like tramadol er would i feel it 2 or 3 times thru out the day?

Brinda

I don't exactly know what you mean. But I guess you are asking whether or not the release stops and starts a few times?NO, the pill is released in a controlled manner, so it slowly dissolves throughout a few hours. The pain should be reduced throughout the day, so don't worry about on and off pain.

Jazmin

No. Extended release is a slow gradual release. It does not stop releasing medication and then start again, so you would not feel spurts throughout the day.

What is better for pain relief 600 mg of advil or 50 mg of tramadol?

Antionette

I have a super sinus infection and my face is killing me!

Angelic

tramadol is stronger

Tasia

hon, you gotta take whatever works better for you without side effects...take a look @ the directions, the timing, & pick one, then if it doesn't help, wait the appropriate time to take the other;; actually Aleve works pretty well, OTC...but what works for one, moay not work for another, & just cuz the dosage is higher, doesn't mean it's gonna be more effective for YOU..if you are taking ANY other meds then ya truly NEED to consult with your doc or your pharmacist before you even apply it...good luck!!

Arturo

I totally agree with OmsiAli I would take 200mg Ibuprofen and 50mg of Tramadol

Oneida

Advil is basically Ibuprofen, so its not the strongest dose that you can get, you can take upto 800mg Ibuprofen three times a day for short periods (3 days), tramadol is pretty strong - you can take 100 mg at any one time up to four times a day.Tramadol comes just below morphine in terms of pain relief.Ibuprofen is good for muscle pains and bony pain, tramadol is non-selective and good for all types of pain, theres no reason why you cant take them both together because they act via different mechanisms so they can be taken together.I'd suggest using 200mg Ibuprofen and 50mg tramadol and see how the pain goes, if its not controlled then after 4-6 hours increase the dose a little bit.If you're unsure about the doses PM me for advice or read the information thing that comes in the box.

Can tramadol come up on a urinalysis?

Quincy

my friends mom gave him a tramadol for a headache and he has to take a military drug test tomorrow. will that show up on a drug test?

Junita

Tramadol is not a narcotic. It is not a scheduled drug. It should not show up on the urinalysis.

Alma

Yes. Taking someone else's Rx medication isn't very smart. Pain medications have several serious side effects,,,,,Here is a link you should look at before you just take someone's medspdrhealth.comSo if you are being tested within the next 72 hours you are going to have a problem.

Gia

It might but if he informs them that he was prescribed medicine or took something then they'll look for it and it won't be so shocking or suspicious

How many mgs tramadol does it take to get similiar effects as 5mg of percocet?

Esther

Is tramadol even a narcotic?

Bernadine

50mg of tramadol (usually one pill) is similar to 5mg of percocet. It is sort of a narcotic, but a fairly weak one at that. And actually, tramadol isn't very addicting. percocet is MUCH more addicting than tramadol. But tramadol withdraws are much worse because tramadol is also a partial SSRI.If 1 doesn't give you substantial pain relief you'll be fine with taking 2.

Ardelia

Tramadol is an opiate based pain pill.It is just as addicting and more likely to kill you that percocet, which kills plenty of people. If you have pain other than from cancer you should not be taking either.See a chiropractor or other natural healthcare specialist and get off of this drugs + or didnt you notice that this is the alternate medicine board.

Boyd

It's a synthetic narcotic and it is considered highly addictive---you posted 2 questions about it which really make me think that you are indeed, highly addicted to prescription drugs already. Consider getting off those drugs alltogether and try chiropractice or holistic medicine...good luck
