I went on Triqular over ten years ago. I often wondered if maybe my mood swings and extreme pms was due to birth control but because I had been on the pill so long it was hard to judge.Recently (four months ago) I finally ended a crazy relationship and decided that I would give my body a break and go off the pill. Soon I noticed my skin was acting up (i attributed this to being off the pill) and I felt "less crazy" than I had since I can remember....was this because i was finally away from my ex or being off the pill. Hard to tell. Also I found I was in really good shape (I always worked out but it seemed I was at least 5lbs lighter without trying.....again this could be that I'm not eating snacks regularly with the ex). I really hoped that being irrational and the 5-10lbs weren't side effects of the pill because I had every intention to go back on it once I was dating again and feel like I gave my body a break.Well I've been back on Triquilar for a week and there have been some things that concern me. One is that I've gained at least 5lbs (seems to be mostly boobs and tummy) is this the result of being sick last week and not going super hard at the gym or the pill? I've also cried twice over the last week and feel a little emotionally off. Again who knows if this is the pill or maybe it's my own natural sensitivity and emotions making me "crazy".I'm really really really hoping that I'm just being too sensitive and making a big deal out of nothing because I have a year worth of these pills and I want to be back on some sort of birth control pill.What are other people's experiences with this pill? Is this just a first month thing?

Me and my boyfriend are currently on a one weeks break because he is questioning his love for me and whether he wants a relationship. He felt like this before Christmas but we carried on - however when I asked him this week how he feels he said still the same. So I suggested having a break so that he can properly think about what he wants without me around. We've been together for 2 years and things have been great. I think it's an accumulation of things over the last 6 months; my moaning about him not being romantic enough (which actually he makes up for in terms of his affection/thoughtfulness), a lot of my friends getting married which has perhaps made him feel pressured, and also he started taking anti-anxiety pills for his social anxiety which have made him very nonchalant and unfeeling. So I can kind of see why he is feeling the way he is. But it seems like he has really got it ingrained in his head that we're not going to work anymore and that he can't give a 100%. Do you think this break would do us good? Is there anything else I can do?Thanks x

I take 3 200mg Ibuprofen and 2 650mg Tylenol Arthritis pills at the same time 3 times a day with little to no relief. I am 26 and have lost most of my quality of life. I have to wear house shoes to just be able to walk. The area's that are affected are both shoulders, elbows, wrists, thumbs, pinky joint, right knee, both hips, both heels and all toes, and the upper part of my spine. I have psoriatic arthritis caused by my psoriasis. I used to take methotrexate which did wonders. I have lost my job and I can no longer go to Rhuem to get my prescriptions. Sometimes I have nights where I can't fall asleep and I end up sleeping for 3 hours or none at all. This would sometimes last 3 days to 3 weeks. Hey...I know this is not really a question, but I had really bad acne as a teenager and now as a young adult. My skin got much better and I want to share some ways you can get rid or reduce your acne:1. Use a fash wash with salicylic acid or benzol peroxide. Benzol peroxide worked best for me, but I had to discontinue using it because it discolored my skin. These ingredients can be drying so I suggest you start with only using it once a day and then after a few weeks use it twice a day---in morning and at night. Some good brands are oxy clean and biore ice cleanser.2. Ladies, PLEASE wash your faces at night. Especially if you wear makeup. A lot of dirt and bacteria get trapped in your pores, and this can irritate skin. I usually cleans my face with Beyond Belief Vita-C cleanser (from Sally store). After I wash my face at night, I like to go over it with a Stridex pad or a clearskin wipe.3. Tie your hair back when you go to sleep otherwise the oils from your hair can come onto your face. Also, I make it a point to wash my pillow covers EVERY WEEK. Your pillow is a hotspot for oils and bacteria. If you toss and turn like me, your face will touch the nastiness, so wash your pillow case every week. Just toss it in with laundry.4. Having a healthy diet does help clear your skin. Instead of chips, fries, and salty snacks, eat fresh fruit and veggies. It is easy to toss some grapes or a banana with your lunch. Also drink 8 to 10 glasses of water. This really does help!!!5. Use an oil-free moisturizer. A good one to use is one by biore with spf 156. Do NOT pick at your pimples. You could get acne scars which are tougher to remove. I know it is tempting but do NOT do it. 7. Every week I put on a face mask. I usually alternate between Freeman's cucumber peel,, Queen Helen Mint Julep Mask, homemade egg mask, or a green tea/apple cider vinegar/honey mask. This helps relieve stress and makes skin smooth.8. Exfoliate only once or twice a week. You can aggravate your skin if you exfoliate too much. I like to use Queen Helene Honey Oatmeal Scrub or a facial scrub by biore.9. This may be an extreme step but if all else fails go see a doctor and see if birth control is an option for you. It is not for all women since it can cause blood clots and serious side effects depending on your age, health, and lifestyle (i.e. smoking). Also every woman's body reacts differently with different hormones. Birth control may worsen your acne. For me, it worked great. My skin cleared up faster than I expected, but please discuss this with your doctor. I tried prescription grade topical ointments and it did not work. My doctor suspected that I might have a hormonal imbalance, and the pill worked like a miracle.Hope this helps :)

My boyfriend has sustained injuries in and out of the military and deals with chronic pain everyday. When he got out of the army, over two years ago, he failed a drug test due to smoking marijuana, so the VA is unwilling to give him pain medicine and constantly brush him off looking at him as a drug seeker. Because of this he turned to buying pain pills on the street. Once he was no longer able to afford this method of pain relief, he went to rehab and was given suboxone for the withdrawal symptoms and whatever else comes with getting off pain pills. He still deals with this pain everyday though. He finally got a good job and now has private insurance through his employer. Today, he saw a doctor and was prescribed pain medicine. Before he even made it home from the doctors office, they cancelled his prescription and told him that because he was still taking suboxone from rehab, that they can never and will never prescribe any pain medicine to him again for the rest of his life! We are at a loss and don't know what to do. We are trying so hard to find out whats wrong with him and how to fix the problems causing his pain, but in the meantime his pain interferes with his life greatly. His hand swells up and becomes stiff, he gets a sharp shooting pain in one of his hips and his knees and shoulders are both stiff and in pain very often(he had a shoulder reconstruction done on his left shoulder). It gets to the point where the pain becomes so extreme he becomes dizzy and/or nauseous, he becomes sleepless and often crys. Is there any way we can lift this 'drug seeker' label from his record and get him the relief that he needs and deserves?And yes we try other methods of pain relief for him, massages, compresses, over the counter pills/ointments, rest, and a healthier diet. He may feel better for a very brief amount of time but the pain always comes back quickly and just as bad as before. I know that he isn't just a druggy looking for a cheap easy way to get his fix, I see what he goes through everyday and I know that he'd rather just fix the problem and not need medication but he has been experiencing these pains for years and has gone to many doctors seeking answers but none have been able to help. what should we do!?His pain greatly affects my life too. He often needs help getting up from sitting, he can;t do strenuous activities for long periods of time and sense he is forced to do so where he works as a chef when he comes home it's straight to bed(he usually gets off work in the early afternoon). I don't know why or if theres another he hasnt tried though.and I wish they did take care of our vets the way that they should. he was discharged because of the shoulder injury that lead to a surgery because it was easier to replace him than to fix him and keep him. the VA constantly gives him the cold shoulder, I've witnessed it so many times and it just makes me sad.

I just started taking Lipo 6 Black Hers yesterday to boost weight loss results with proper diet and exercise but it's given me heartburn that has lasted all day and continues now. so my mom has anxiety and shes had it now for 20 years of her life off and on. This is long but just please read. So my mom has been suffering with this practically a long time now and no doctor or nobody cant seem to help her with what she has.Just prescribes medication and on with their lifes. Okay so my mom had gallstone surgery before and when she went through the surgery after she had to remove her gallbladder from all that because they fkd her up pretty bad. Okay so after they gave her a pain medication through a shot that fully blown her nerves and she doesn't remember what it was called. before all of this she still had anxiety but not as bad as after the shot they gave her. No it was not morphine. So anyways my moms brother had died which was like her son, and at that point she pretty much lost it. She stood in bed practically for 3months straight crying and the doctor prescribed her medications for all this. Alprazolam 2mg twice a day or as needed my mom took up to 5 a day on top of that she took oxycodones for her bad migraines and she took about 8 of them a day not all at once though of course, yes she did abuse her medications but she wanted to get rid of her anxiety because nothing was helping her. So for about 7yrs she was on her medications. They gave her many drugs for her anxiety like if she was there guinea pig. She has tried Zoloft which caused her to think crazy So she stopped them,Prestiq which made her mind mess up totally practically causing my mom to be fkn retarded she stopped them. Cymbalta she took for a while thinkin they helped also with her aprazolams and oxys and soon stopped them, Symbyax took them thought they worked.. they didnt. So my mom turned herself into detox because she thought it was the meds making her go crazy. they cut her cold turkey off of everything. while she was in there she got shots of anti psychotic medicines which caused her to be Slow and sick because of course my mother is not schizo or bipolar. she got out and they prescribed her lorezapams and high blood pressure pills. saying if she took theese correctly her anxiety would go away, it didnt and soon she stopped taking everything except amitriptilines . she still has anxiety and she dont know why at alls shes tried everything and her doctor seems like he just doesn't want to deal with her and prescribes her nonsense pills from which she gets sick from even worse in the long run. They said she also has a thyroid problem in her neck and she thinks thats what could be causing her sickness but she dont know what to do anymore. Can somebody please help me? im going crazy. Off gaberpentin due to liver, now back on, sod the liver it is robust, on morphine tablets and Oramorph........still the thigh pain front is a nightmare.! Mental torture.......! Popping pills like they are sweets..! I just knock myself out with sleepers/amtriplyline (Oh what life savers) Told GP, he understood, ( what a star..!) I feel like my life is coming to a end, why oh why the pain....? There has to be a answer to stopping the pain, the mornings are just horrible, the shock of my brain engaging with my legs and feet......I would of thought he was the best neuro surgeon in the area, even he said "We know about the nerve's in the legs but not in the back just yet" Oh dear, but how unique and complex our spinal cord's are ? There's one thing that I haven't said on this site is that in the last few months my hands/face have started to tingle, my whole body has started to twitch when I'm resting, like a electric shock..????? worrying...???There has to be an answer to this thigh pain..? ( cold and deep pain, in the tissue, in the bone ).Please, please anyone have any idea's.....????Does anyone know of clinical trials in the UK on the spine re disc replacement or 4 level multi fusion..?

Before you ask, NO, I am NOT trying to overdose... I'm not suicidal. A good friend of mine that I've known for years (since I was six) recently died of an overdose of MS-Contin 15 mg pills. We don't know how many he took (I know the LD50 in humans), but I'm just wondering whether or not he suffered.So: Is an overdose of extended release morphine a painful/slow way to go? Would he have been aware of what was going on?Thanks so much for your answers!!Also (although I know the LD50) does anyone know how many he would have taken? His family is trying to find out whether or not his death was accidental (he was known to fool around with street drugs on occasion) or intentional. He was also depressed.


Question about MS-Contin ER (Extended release morphine)?
I have had what the ER doctors are calling a migraine since Friday. I was prescribed butalbital/apap/caffeine on friday. when I went back to the ER today because my migraine proceeded once the morphine shot wore off they gave me two valium pills. The pain is still grueling and I want to know if I can take the butalbital while the valium is still in my system.

I was pregnant, 13 1/2 weeks in. Monday afternoon, I started getting pains in my stomach, they werent too bad though, and sorta came and went. but around 7 or 8pm, they started coming regularly and more painful. I thought maybe they are like braxton hicks, or whatever they are called. So, I did everything I could find to try and make them stop. Laid on my left side, walked around, drank plenty of fluids and sat/laid in every position imaginable (comfortably anyway). by 1230A, I decided to go to the hospital, because they were getting worse and were only about 2-3 min apart. I told them what they were, I knew I was having contractions. They listened to the baby's heartbeat and it sounded good, 180 bpm. So, they decided they were going to give me 6 mg of morphine and send me to the next hospital so i could get an ultrasound of my appendix (its 415A by the time I get there). I sit in the ER there for an hour before they bring me in for an ultrasound, still convinced its my appendix, and still in excruciating pain. When they did the ultrasound, baby was still ok, and they couldnt see anything wrong with my appendix, so they gave me a shot of something 10X stronger than morphine to try and stop the pain (it didnt help). 45 min later, my water broke. 5 min after that, I started bleeding, they listened to the baby again, and his heart was still beating, but 10 min later, he came out. I had told them over and over, these felt like contractions, I had already had 1live baby, so I knew what I was feeling. Why didnt they listen to me, and couldnt they have stopped the contractions from happening with a shot/pill? My baby shouldnt have died, he was healthy, i took my vitamins, ate healthy and didnt do any drugs/drinking (i dont anyway).Thank you all

What can 60mg of morphine do to you? Will it cause severe damage or an overdose? Also, will Cyproheptadine (a sleeping pill) effect it in any way?

I am currently hospitalized for an attack of acute intermittent porphyria. Normally, I get 4 mg Dilaudid IV every 4 hours or 10 mg morphine an hour on one of those drip bags. That is the only way I can be comfortable during the attack.At this hosp, the dr. has been giving me 2 mg of dilaudid. It was not enough to get rid of the pain, but I tried to tolerate it. A new Dr. came on shift and cut me back to 0.5 mg dilaudid, which does nothing. He also tried giving me a vicodin pill, which is less effective than dilaudid, even though I've been throwing up nonstop and have not eaten in over two days.I screamed for 1 1/2 hours so he finally gave me 1 mg of dilaudid, but it is barely taking the pain away. I've never had this problem before as most dr.s know AIP is very painful and needs lots of pain meds. Who should I talk to about this? How can I get the meds I need?I'm not a drug seeker! Do your research before you throw out accusations like that. The attacks last 3 - 5 days for me, usually, and I've always been hospitalized the entire time because i needed treatment with glucose and panhematin. I never take pain meds home. Once I'm well enough to leave the hospital, I don't need further narcotics. The dr.s know this as they are currently treating me with glucose and panhematin so I doubt they think I'm a drug seeker.My point about the vicodin was that it's oral, and it's kind of hard to take a pill when you're throwing up nonstop. I'm pretty sure if someone with cancer was asking this same question, you wouldn't be calling them a drug seeker.Btw, I meant screaming in pain, i.e. heavy crying, not screaming as in yelling at people.

I need to start working out and living my life, I am so depressed with the way i look and my life is at a low right now, so I'm trying to fix things one step at a time!! Over the course of a month I've been having dreams of being pregnant more than once a week. I love kids and hope to one day have them but I don't have any intention of having any soon. The dreams vary a bit, In one I had gotten pregnant by a friend and ended up tricking me into taking an "abortion pill" basically in the dream he told me it was to help me feel better but right after taking it I started to bleed from the mouth and basically had a miscarriage/abortion. The others I don't remember much except for one other. The last one I had actually scared me a bit, in the dream I was in England and was a surrogate for a friend with the same name as me and in the dream my water broke and I was in the hospital and family members I haven't spoken to in years that I don't get a long with showed up which was extremely weird. Once in the hospital someone kept calling me and whenever I'd answer the person on the other line would refuse to tell me who they were and would just keep telling me they were coming after me and going to kill me and in the dream I knew that he knew I was pregnant and that he was going to kill me before I'd give birth. In all the dreams I never gave birth. The last creepy one was the closest I ever got to giving birth. If anyone has any dream interpretations or whatever I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.

Ok I dont usually ask questions on these forums, usually I just read over them but i think this time I’m drowning in "what if's" from other blogs I've read. So any input on the topic would be wonderful! Thanks a ton in advance! :) Ok so I have been with my boyfriend since High school we're both in our early 20's, so about 6 or 7 years. Long long time. We had a break for like a year in a half in between because he cheated when he was 20 and I was 19 attending college out of state. That was a huge strain and we tried to work through it but I just couldn’t handle seeing his face after what he did. So we broke up and I didn’t see him for almost two years! During that time I dated and had fun being single! Enjoyed my first few months of being 21, single and independent! New career new life! Then I ran into him at a get together and we became friends at first and it slooowly progressed into what we are now. Which to be honest I’m not sure what we are. He virtually lives with me now. I keep saying that we're not official because I’m scared he may do what he did before again. So he understands my trust issues and he says he will prove to me that "he was just young, dumb and full of c@@" he doesn’t say he's changed he just said he's learned that a horney night isn’t worth not seeing me for two years. We were slowly progressing until we hit a bump in the road. I got pregnant! Despite my pills I got freaking pregnant. I told him that we don’t have options and have to resort to an abortion. He was supportive of my decision but said that we can work through anything and to consider other options. He refused adoption as he said “it’s hard enough giving up our child but I will not have someone we don’t know raise something we created!”. I took his thoughts into account and we did a pros and cons list and timeline to see the toll it would take in our careers as well. My parents hate him for what he did to me in college and they would disown me if I had a child with him. His parents love me and were supportive yet sad that we had to do this. We are both young and still fight and it just isn’t the environment for a child. We can barely take care of ourselves let alone a child. Ultimately I just don’t trust him enough to bring a child into this world with him. Once a cheater always a cheater. When I said that he got upset, stormed out, called his dad and came back. His only words were, “we’re not ready, when we’re ready we’ll know” The day came and he went with me and throughout the entire appointment kept saying "we can leave even at the last second! Don’t feel like you have to do this because we're here! You say go we go" I never said go and we both look back on that and digress. It’s been about two weeks since the abortion and he still won’t sleep with me. He says he is scared to hurt me and refuses to touch me down there. He is still affectionate and we fall asleep in each other’s arms every night. Just no sex. Well sexual anything actually, we kiss intimately and that’s pretty much it. Every where I read it says if he's not getting it from you he's getting it somewhere else. Once a cheater always a cheater. Could this recent incident make him retract to his old ways? Cheating, lying deceiving. I know my hormones are still going crazy so I don’t know if I’m crazy and just over reacting or if I am just not taking his feelings into consideration. We don’t really talk about his feelings, he always is just asking about mine. Am I being selfish, I know I have ALOT of trust issues and I don’t know if that is blinding me to how he can be feeling. Maybe I just need to let go of the past. Whenever we fight its always about cheating and he always says he knows he messed up and counts his blessings that I’m even giving him a second chance so as long as I let him he will be there proving it. Is it just me?? He has a golden tongue so I’m scared he may be feeding me crap like before. I don’t know, I think the sex thing is throwing me off and our relationship shouldn’t be based on that. He has said that to me too, “we’ve been through way too much to just be sex, our relationship isn’t just sex” but everything I’ve read, men don’t think like that! Would you offer your child (ren) contraception? I'd rather offer my daughter the pill/to buy my son condoms (when they get old enough) than end up as a grandma far before my time. The 25th of december was the last time I had the pill, (as i decided to come of it) On the 27th decemberlate at night i had unprotected sex with my boyfriend twice, but he didn't come he pulled out. and he is certain no come came out, and the next morning I came on my period.
