I went on Triqular over ten years ago. I often wondered if maybe my mood swings and extreme pms was due to birth control but because I had been on the pill so long it was hard to judge.Recently (four months ago) I finally ended a crazy relationship and decided that I would give my body a break and go off the pill. Soon I noticed my skin was acting up (i attributed this to being off the pill) and I felt "less crazy" than I had since I can remember....was this because i was finally away from my ex or being off the pill. Hard to tell. Also I found I was in really good shape (I always worked out but it seemed I was at least 5lbs lighter without trying.....again this could be that I'm not eating snacks regularly with the ex). I really hoped that being irrational and the 5-10lbs weren't side effects of the pill because I had every intention to go back on it once I was dating again and feel like I gave my body a break.Well I've been back on Triquilar for a week and there have been some things that concern me. One is that I've gained at least 5lbs (seems to be mostly boobs and tummy) is this the result of being sick last week and not going super hard at the gym or the pill? I've also cried twice over the last week and feel a little emotionally off. Again who knows if this is the pill or maybe it's my own natural sensitivity and emotions making me "crazy".I'm really really really hoping that I'm just being too sensitive and making a big deal out of nothing because I have a year worth of these pills and I want to be back on some sort of birth control pill.What are other people's experiences with this pill? Is this just a first month thing?

Me and my boyfriend are currently on a one weeks break because he is questioning his love for me and whether he wants a relationship. He felt like this before Christmas but we carried on - however when I asked him this week how he feels he said still the same. So I suggested having a break so that he can properly think about what he wants without me around. We've been together for 2 years and things have been great. I think it's an accumulation of things over the last 6 months; my moaning about him not being romantic enough (which actually he makes up for in terms of his affection/thoughtfulness), a lot of my friends getting married which has perhaps made him feel pressured, and also he started taking anti-anxiety pills for his social anxiety which have made him very nonchalant and unfeeling. So I can kind of see why he is feeling the way he is. But it seems like he has really got it ingrained in his head that we're not going to work anymore and that he can't give a 100%. Do you think this break would do us good? Is there anything else I can do?Thanks x

How do I deal with a grieving girlfriend who has a history of prescription overdose?
For the last 3 months, I've had, off and on, the feeling of a lump in my throat. Sometimes, I would get the sensation of heart burn. Now, I don't have any medical coverage, or a job at the moment. So, I went to a free clinic. They prescribed me a medication that is suppose to reduce the amount acid in my stomach. It wasn't always effective. It was also, fairly expensive. I'm only 25, so I can't see my self taking a pill for the rest of my life. Especially if it didn't always work, and at the cost.I don't smoke, or drink, or drink coffee or caffeine. Every now and then I have a soda, like one a month. It's a feeling like a burp is stuck in my throat. So, I can try to force a burp, and it relives it for a while. It then builds back up again. I've looked into different symptoms and things, but I don't seem to fall under them. I don't eat big meals, drinking lots of water seems to make it worse, and it's really not heartburn, it's very much in the throat.The doctor said I may only have to take the pills for 2 weeks, though maybe up to 6 weeks. I'd need another prescription at this point. I'm off the pills, and of course it's back. I really cant justify taking a pill that's only 50% effective. If it doesn't actually eventually cure me, why bother?So, what could this be?

Hey...I know this is not really a question, but I had really bad acne as a teenager and now as a young adult. My skin got much better and I want to share some ways you can get rid or reduce your acne:1. Use a fash wash with salicylic acid or benzol peroxide. Benzol peroxide worked best for me, but I had to discontinue using it because it discolored my skin. These ingredients can be drying so I suggest you start with only using it once a day and then after a few weeks use it twice a day---in morning and at night. Some good brands are oxy clean and biore ice cleanser.2. Ladies, PLEASE wash your faces at night. Especially if you wear makeup. A lot of dirt and bacteria get trapped in your pores, and this can irritate skin. I usually cleans my face with Beyond Belief Vita-C cleanser (from Sally store). After I wash my face at night, I like to go over it with a Stridex pad or a clearskin wipe.3. Tie your hair back when you go to sleep otherwise the oils from your hair can come onto your face. Also, I make it a point to wash my pillow covers EVERY WEEK. Your pillow is a hotspot for oils and bacteria. If you toss and turn like me, your face will touch the nastiness, so wash your pillow case every week. Just toss it in with laundry.4. Having a healthy diet does help clear your skin. Use an oil-free moisturizer. A good one to use is one by biore with spf 156. Do NOT pick at your pimples. You could get acne scars which are tougher to remove. I know it is tempting but do NOT do it. 7. Every week I put on a face mask. I usually alternate between Freeman's cucumber peel,, Queen Helen Mint Julep Mask, homemade egg mask, or a green tea/apple cider vinegar/honey mask. This helps relieve stress and makes skin smooth.8. Exfoliate only once or twice a week. You can aggravate your skin if you exfoliate too much. I like to use Queen Helene Honey Oatmeal Scrub or a facial scrub by biore.9. This may be an extreme step but if all else fails go see a doctor and see if birth control is an option for you. It is not for all women since it can cause blood clots and serious side effects depending on your age, health, and lifestyle (i.e. smoking). Also every woman's body reacts differently with different hormones. Birth control may worsen your acne. For me, it worked great. My skin cleared up faster than I expected, but please discuss this with your doctor. I tried prescription grade topical ointments and it did not work. My doctor suspected that I might have a hormonal imbalance, and the pill worked like a miracle.Hope this helps :)

My boyfriend has sustained injuries in and out of the military and deals with chronic pain everyday. When he got out of the army, over two years ago, he failed a drug test due to smoking marijuana, so the VA is unwilling to give him pain medicine and constantly brush him off looking at him as a drug seeker. Because of this he turned to buying pain pills on the street. Once he was no longer able to afford this method of pain relief, he went to rehab and was given suboxone for the withdrawal symptoms and whatever else comes with getting off pain pills. Before he even made it home from the doctors office, they cancelled his prescription and told him that because he was still taking suboxone from rehab, that they can never and will never prescribe any pain medicine to him again for the rest of his life! We are at a loss and don't know what to do. We are trying so hard to find out whats wrong with him and how to fix the problems causing his pain, but in the meantime his pain interferes with his life greatly. His hand swells up and becomes stiff, he gets a sharp shooting pain in one of his hips and his knees and shoulders are both stiff and in pain very often(he had a shoulder reconstruction done on his left shoulder). I just started taking Lipo 6 Black Hers yesterday to boost weight loss results with proper diet and exercise but it's given me heartburn that has lasted all day and continues now. I am going to lower the dosage of diet pills for the next few days, but I hesitate to completely stop taking them because, 1 they were expensive and 2, I'm reading good reviews on this and want it to work for me! I need help & advice in my 6 year relationship!!!?
I had a UTI and they have done tests and say I no longer have one, but I was on Cipro a day late because I missed one dose at night, and continued to take it the next morning. Can missing one dose of Cipro 500mg cause the UTI to stay around or come back. My urine came back negative but I am not sure if the cipro can cause that test to be false or not, cause it was in my system? I still have some frequency and urgency and there is a little pressure under my kidneys but I have had gastrititis in the past and am thinking that could be it. It is not bad pain, just dull aching. so my mom has anxiety and shes had it now for 20 years of her life off and on. This is long but just please read. So my mom has been suffering with this practically a long time now and no doctor or nobody cant seem to help her with what she has.Just prescribes medication and on with their lifes. Okay so my mom had gallstone surgery before and when she went through the surgery after she had to remove her gallbladder from all that because they fkd her up pretty bad. Okay so after they gave her a pain medication through a shot that fully blown her nerves and she doesn't remember what it was called. before all of this she still had anxiety but not as bad as after the shot they gave her. No it was not morphine. So anyways my moms brother had died which was like her son, and at that point she pretty much lost it. She stood in bed practically for 3months straight crying and the doctor prescribed her medications for all this. Alprazolam 2mg twice a day or as needed my mom took up to 5 a day on top of that she took oxycodones for her bad migraines and she took about 8 of them a day not all at once though of course, yes she did abuse her medications but she wanted to get rid of her anxiety because nothing was helping her. So for about 7yrs she was on her medications. They gave her many drugs for her anxiety like if she was there guinea pig. She has tried Zoloft which caused her to think crazy So she stopped them,Prestiq which made her mind mess up totally practically causing my mom to be fkn retarded she stopped them. Cymbalta she took for a while thinkin they helped also with her aprazolams and oxys and soon stopped them, Symbyax took them thought they worked.. they didnt. So my mom turned herself into detox because she thought it was the meds making her go crazy. they cut her cold turkey off of everything. while she was in there she got shots of anti psychotic medicines which caused her to be Slow and sick because of course my mother is not schizo or bipolar. she got out and they prescribed her lorezapams and high blood pressure pills. saying if she took theese correctly her anxiety would go away, it didnt and soon she stopped taking everything except amitriptilines . she still has anxiety and she dont know why at alls shes tried everything and her doctor seems like he just doesn't want to deal with her and prescribes her nonsense pills from which she gets sick from even worse in the long run. Well what a drama this has been, how the hell I keep up my spirits I will never know. We don't know how many he took (I know the LD50 in humans), but I'm just wondering whether or not he suffered.So: Is an overdose of extended release morphine a painful/slow way to go? I was pregnant, 13 1/2 weeks in. Monday afternoon, I started getting pains in my stomach, they werent too bad though, and sorta came and went. but around 7 or 8pm, they started coming regularly and more painful. I thought maybe they are like braxton hicks, or whatever they are called. So, I did everything I could find to try and make them stop. Laid on my left side, walked around, drank plenty of fluids and sat/laid in every position imaginable (comfortably anyway). by 1230A, I decided to go to the hospital, because they were getting worse and were only about 2-3 min apart. I told them what they were, I knew I was having contractions. They listened to the baby's heartbeat and it sounded good, 180 bpm. So, they decided they were going to give me 6 mg of morphine and send me to the next hospital so i could get an ultrasound of my appendix (its 415A by the time I get there). I sit in the ER there for an hour before they bring me in for an ultrasound, still convinced its my appendix, and still in excruciating pain. When they did the ultrasound, baby was still ok, and they couldnt see anything wrong with my appendix, so they gave me a shot of something 10X stronger than morphine to try and stop the pain (it didnt help). 45 min later, my water broke. 5 min after that, I started bleeding, they listened to the baby again, and his heart was still beating, but 10 min later, he came out. I had told them over and over, these felt like contractions, I had already had 1live baby, so I knew what I was feeling. Why didnt they listen to me, and couldnt they have stopped the contractions from happening with a shot/pill? My baby shouldnt have died, he was healthy, i took my vitamins, ate healthy and didnt do any drugs/drinking (i dont anyway).Thank you all

I am currently hospitalized for an attack of acute intermittent porphyria. Normally, I get 4 mg Dilaudid IV every 4 hours or 10 mg morphine an hour on one of those drip bags. That is the only way I can be comfortable during the attack.At this hosp, the dr. has been giving me 2 mg of dilaudid. It was not enough to get rid of the pain, but I tried to tolerate it. A new Dr. came on shift and cut me back to 0.5 mg dilaudid, which does nothing. He also tried giving me a vicodin pill, which is less effective than dilaudid, even though I've been throwing up nonstop and have not eaten in over two days.I screamed for 1 1/2 hours so he finally gave me 1 mg of dilaudid, but it is barely taking the pain away. I've never had this problem before as most dr.s know AIP is very painful and needs lots of pain meds. Who should I talk to about this? How can I get the meds I need?I'm not a drug seeker! Do your research before you throw out accusations like that. The attacks last 3 - 5 days for me, usually, and I've always been hospitalized the entire time because i needed treatment with glucose and panhematin. I never take pain meds home. Once I'm well enough to leave the hospital, I don't need further narcotics. The dr.s know this as they are currently treating me with glucose and panhematin so I doubt they think I'm a drug seeker.My point about the vicodin was that it's oral, and it's kind of hard to take a pill when you're throwing up nonstop. I'm pretty sure if someone with cancer was asking this same question, you wouldn't be calling them a drug seeker.Btw, I meant screaming in pain, i.e. heavy crying, not screaming as in yelling at people.

I can't think of the name of the pain pill that is orange... It is usually used for pain. Can also be used to take someone off of morphine. It is also an opium blocker. Starts with a C. Anybody know?!

Ok this is a long one but i need some help. I'm 19, 189lbs, 5"7 inches tall. I'm constantly tired even with enough sleep, am easily irritated, can't seem to concentrate on what im doing, always being interrupted by intruding thoughts (random song lyrics, what someone said to me awhile ago.) It also seems no matter where i work I just can't seem to move fast enough, as my thoughts seem to be scrambled. It seems like no matter how hard i work i just feel too tired/irritated to complete my task.One day however, i spoke to my aunt about it and she gave me a 10mg pill called Adderoll. I know that this was wrong but i took it on my break. All I can say is that I HAVE NVR been more productive in my whole life. I felt calm, focused, and completely turned around. I can honestly say that the managers were really impressed.What i want to know is: If adderoll works this well, how should i ask my doctor about it. How do you think he'll handle me taking without a prescription. Also does anyone think i shouldn't take it? Any advice is welcome but if you suggest i shouldnt take it plz give more options. I'm hoping for either a clinician or someone who has been through this to be able to help me out here. I have suffered from chronic anxiety for my entire life. I have a copy of my pediatric medical records and at every single appointment the doctor noted "has trouble sleeping at night." I also remember my mom yelling at me at night when I would come to her room and complain that I couldn't sleep, hours after I'd gone to bed. The reasons for my anxiety are complex and mostly related to my stressful, strict upbringing (fundamentalist Christian family who believes everyone except people with their beliefs are going to hell; the "rapture" is imminent and if you f*ck up today, Jesus might leave you behind tomorrow; my family hoarded money despite the fact that my dad is a surgeon and makes upwards $600k/yr because financial ruin - like the recent economic meltdown - was sure to happen at any time). Anyhow, my family has always been convinced that it's me who is screwed up and not them, so they have been carting me off to therapy since I was 4. Eventually my dad decided I needed to be on antidepressants, but told me it was medication for PMS (since he decided that I was "too moody" when I'm probably just a regular, average girl - I have 3 brothers and no sisters). Despite therapy and continued sleeplessness (without prescription sleep aids I probably get 4-5 hours a night and constantly feel exhausted), every doctor I openly explain this to prescribes antidepressants. I explain that I am not organically depressed, but because of the high levels of chronic anxiety I've had for the past 25 years, I get run down and feel exhausted and down on myself. They never offer it, and when I asked my idiot doctor dad he said they are too addictive and that antidepressants could offer me the same effects long-term. Please let me be clear that I am not a "pill popper". I exercise vigorously for 30-60 minutes 5 days a week and eat a healthy, clean diet with minimal processed foods in an effort to control my stress and anxiety naturally. But since these methods are not working, I feel that a SMALL dose of medication that might help correct a potential chemical imbalance that is causing my symptoms would be helpful. Any advice?

And she told her all this while others could hear and made my mom look like some kind of drug addict. What should we do?

After 30 years of battling my weight, yes, I am VERY sensitive about it. So the slightest comment from my mother is pure torment for me. hi, i'm 24, very nearly 25 and have suffered quite badly from pms and heavy periods since i was 10. but it seems to be getting worse each month as i get older.Basically, every month without fail I get headaches and "flu"like symptoms,feel shy,weak and tired, get bad skin,cronic pains and and aches in my stomach back and legs. I can't eat or even drink sometimes but feel a constant urge to urinate for a few days at least and cant empty my bowels, then cant stop doing so for at least a day when my period begins. More often than not I faint and am pysichally sick.The worst problem though is that each time, i also become severelly depressed(even suicidal sometimes), angry and teary and often very confused and forgetful.it usually lasts for a good week- two weeks and in the past month i have had two consecutive periods. I have been suffering from stress and panick attacks which i believe can have quite an effect on this type of thing, i have taken antidepressants- prescription and herbal in the past and been on various types of the pill as advised by my gp when i explained the problems - but all with no success. i am being treated for anxiety now with hypnotherapy which seems very much to be working but just cant cope with these symptoms anymore, it puts me out for days to the point i am even, once again off work. i have tried things like evening primrose, starflower oil, changing my diet but nothing seems to work. i fully accept that everyone gets symptons and they wont just magically disappear but I just need something to make them bareable enough to get on with my life each month!. i'd be extremely grateful for any advice. thanks for readingas i have already explained above, i have alread seen the GP a few times they all advise the same thing: the pill or antidepressants!. i have tried the pill in various forms and anti depressants and all they have done is make me worse each time.I have also been to A& E after fainting and back to a new GP last year as i have moved area.
