i'm 15 years old, and have bad acne on my chest and back. My face is somewhat mild, but I'm always finding new flare ups on my face. My derm prescribed Retin-A along with Clindamycin back when I was 14, and that regimen worked alright until I noticed it not working anymore. So last month, my derm prescribed a stronger version of Retin-A that kind of but barely worked on my face, and especially my back and chest.I went to the doctor today, and he prescribed Minocycline. A pill in the morning and at night, along with the Retin-A and Clindamycin. I'm excited that something could finally work for me, but I'm also really scared to take Minocycline especially after reading lots of negative reviews.Does anyone have any advice for my situation? What do you do when, you've been with the some person for 6 years, have a 4 year old little girl together who loves both her parents very much & it just seems like we are floating in different directions. I'm trying to work on overcoming a drug addiction every day struggle (been clean since 8/18/09 but, he still sneaks pain pills for his back (we do own a automotive garage in our area), into my house & i'm suppose to pretend like I don't know what's going on. I've been a drug addict well up until the time I stopped for 13 years. Herion, Crack, Coke, Opiates, Patches, anything I could get my hands on, & thank god litterally he has changed my life & has made me a very successful member of society. I feel sometimes he just wants to let lost & not necessarily do illegal drugs but drink & maybe pop a few pills once in awhile which really bothers me because he is also in recovery & had a very bad crack addiction, (he's been clean for almost 5 years. Alcohol is a drug, & a drug is a drug is a drug. Just been struggling on what to do, trying discussing things & just b/c he doesn't have a pill problem it shouldn't bother me when it does because they're being stored in my house right underneath litterly my nose. I'm going to school now to get my cna & really I wanna look for an opening helping other drug addicts/alcoholics. My boyfriend last night was asking me what I thought about a vasectomy. I'm on birth control, and want kids, so I don't him that I wasn't in favor and didn't understand why he wanted one. He called me afterwards and told me that it was an assurance against pregnancy right now and that in 6 months I could stop taking the pill. When I wanted to start having babies, we could revisit that conversation.I feel very betrayed. He's only 29, and I think he was far too young to get this procedure done, and I'm concerned that this means he doesn't want kids at all.What do I do? Does this mean he's doesn't care about me or want kids with me? My girlfriend and I have been dating for just a week short of a year. At first, we had regular sex, it was at least every other night, and then a few month's later (May) she decided to take the contraceptive pill. Her decision she say's was to stop painful periods and avoid having to use condoms. So she start's taking them and she told me that for a few week's she may be a bit messed up, so I'm fine with this, 6 week's later the period (or spotting?) end's and we have sex but have to stop shortly as it hurt's her because it's been a while. So a week later without any physical contact from her, she changes the type of pill she's on due to mood swings I'm fine with this and 5 week's later due to periods we have sex and again have to stop shortly due to it hurting again. A week later we attempt again but it hurt's her, a couple of days later she forgets to take her pill and is then on again for 4 weeks, 2 weeks after her being off her period we have sex and yet again it hurts (baring in mind there is more than enough of her own lubrication involved ), a couple of day's later I go on holiday/vacation for 10 days, come back and she missed another pilled and was on her period for around 6 weeks. This has led us to around December/january time, we had sex for the first time in 7 weeks the other night and I had to stop again due to the pain (She's had 6 partner's that I know of so it's not her first time when she first tried with me).Her pill leaflet doe's say 'lack of sex drive'. I'm beginning to get frustrated, we must have had sex around 5 time's in the past 7 month's and for a 22, 21 year old couple I think that is pretty lame. I've been suffering from Anxiety & Panic attacks for the last year or so. It got so bad that I cannot work or even drive anymore. So my doctor put me on ant-anxiety medication and promised me it would work in a few months but it's been 6 months or so and nothing is changing. Instead of helping me these pills are causing me to have fast rapid heartbeat "caffeine like symptoms", extreme hunger cycles, hot flashes, & color changes in things I see . I now have dizzy spells, trouble breathing and even more complications from having taken them. I feel betrayed by the doctor & even the medications side effect listings. The reason I took these was because my anxiety & panic attacks were so severe but now it's worse. I thought medication works? What's going on and why did my doctor lie to me? Can I sue?The medication is lorazepam & Celexa.I went to another doctor and the same thing. He tells me to not worry, take these pills.Now this new doctor tells me I may want to try Seraquel. It's like they all want me to try everything until it works. Is this dangerous & why does it require medication? Why are my doctors not telling me a natural way? Is there any?I'm just so sad that every DOC i visit is so quick to send me to the pharmacy for something new. Is not a single honest DOC left willing to teach me the methods to get rid of my Anxiety, Panic Attacks and all without slapping on pill after pill of drugs?I stop taking the Seroquel, Celexa and I feel a bit better. I can breath a bit more now and my rapid heart beat is toned down. The Celexa is like Caffiene. My Anxiety and attacks are not resolved though I am back to square one.The Lorazepam seem to be the only one working right now cause it actually calms me down and stops the attacks. I have no insurance and haven't for a very long time, also probably won't be getting insurance any time soon, so a dentist is truely out of the question as I am a broke college kid. Here's the deal. When I was 16 I had a cavity in my 2nd molar on my top left side. The Dentist did a miserable job of filling and correcting it and it has always hurt and been super sensitive ever since. When I was 18 I chipped the same tooth but the filling stayed in tact. I'm 24 now and over the past 6 months or so it has been causing me a lot of pain and about a month ago the filling itself fell out of my mouth and now the root is exposed. Since then the pain has been unbearable. It keeps me up all night and nothing I take makes it feel any better. Tylenol, Motrin, Ibuprofen, No effect. I go through an unhealthy amount of Oragel for the pain and it doesn't do much. I have made pastes from crushed pills, mouthwash, ginger, salt and vodka, and for a little while that worked, but it seems that this tooth has built up a tolerance to that too. Straight freezing cold vodka to the root also works occasionally. My goal is to kill the root and end this pain that I am in. I know it's not the greatest plan but it's all I have. The tooth feels like it is loose but I don't see and movement and i just need help. I guess my question is what do I do? Any other remedies or ideas that I haven't already done. Preferably not too costly please. I'm just at a loss and need to go on with my life and this pain is debilitating.

If she was pregnant she would be about 8 weeks. She had morning sickness for about 3 days but then nothing else after and she had what we both thought was her period. She bled and cramped for 4 days and now she hasnt really had any signs since then she hasnt noticed any weight gain or lost either. She was also 3 weeks late of her period but that was probably a side effect from the morning after pill and she has VERY irregular periods anyways. Whats yall opinions on this?

I got mirena placed dec. 30th 2010. i had light like a period bleeding for the first week with lots of cramping and pain, i could barely even walk. just to be on the safe side i got prescribed docycline to take care of any infection that was there. after starting the docycline i started my period. it was extremely heavy and now i've been bleeding heavily for a week and a half. heavy like, bleeding through a pad every 2-3 hours. the nurse and doctor who placed it say it's in place, there's nothing wrong, and to let my body adjust. they also prescribed pain pills to deal with the cramping. i'm also breastfeeding and it's made my breasts really tender so it's not helping. i feel miserable. my head hurts and i'm nauseous and i can't stop bleeding and it's awful already being severely anemic. it's leaving me dizzy and fainting. they told me to just eat more food with iron. but even when i don't eat now i feel like i'm gaining a ton of weight. i've only had it in 2 1/2 weeks and so far it's been hell. does anyone else have/had mirena? did you bleed a lot or have related problems?i had my daughter 11 1/2 months ago. i'm still breastfeeding, and i had to have a c section because of all the bleeding and odd shape of my uterus and position of my placenta.

Hey...I know this is not really a question, but I had really bad acne as a teenager and now as a young adult. My skin got much better and I want to share some ways you can get rid or reduce your acne:1. Use a fash wash with salicylic acid or benzol peroxide. Benzol peroxide worked best for me, but I had to discontinue using it because it discolored my skin. These ingredients can be drying so I suggest you start with only using it once a day and then after a few weeks use it twice a day---in morning and at night. Some good brands are oxy clean and biore ice cleanser.2. Ladies, PLEASE wash your faces at night. Especially if you wear makeup. A lot of dirt and bacteria get trapped in your pores, and this can irritate skin. I usually cleans my face with Beyond Belief Vita-C cleanser (from Sally store). After I wash my face at night, I like to go over it with a Stridex pad or a clearskin wipe.3. Tie your hair back when you go to sleep otherwise the oils from your hair can come onto your face. Also, I make it a point to wash my pillow covers EVERY WEEK. Your pillow is a hotspot for oils and bacteria. If you toss and turn like me, your face will touch the nastiness, so wash your pillow case every week. Just toss it in with laundry.4. Having a healthy diet does help clear your skin. Instead of chips, fries, and salty snacks, eat fresh fruit and veggies. It is easy to toss some grapes or a banana with your lunch. Also drink 8 to 10 glasses of water. This really does help!!!5. Exfoliate only once or twice a week. You can aggravate your skin if you exfoliate too much. I like to use Queen Helene Honey Oatmeal Scrub or a facial scrub by biore.9. This may be an extreme step but if all else fails go see a doctor and see if birth control is an option for you. It is not for all women since it can cause blood clots and serious side effects depending on your age, health, and lifestyle (i.e. smoking). Also every woman's body reacts differently with different hormones. Birth control may worsen your acne. For me, it worked great. My skin cleared up faster than I expected, but please discuss this with your doctor. I tried prescription grade topical ointments and it did not work. My doctor suspected that I might have a hormonal imbalance, and the pill worked like a miracle.Hope this helps :)

My boyfriend has sustained injuries in and out of the military and deals with chronic pain everyday. When he got out of the army, over two years ago, he failed a drug test due to smoking marijuana, so the VA is unwilling to give him pain medicine and constantly brush him off looking at him as a drug seeker. Because of this he turned to buying pain pills on the street. Once he was no longer able to afford this method of pain relief, he went to rehab and was given suboxone for the withdrawal symptoms and whatever else comes with getting off pain pills. He still deals with this pain everyday though. He finally got a good job and now has private insurance through his employer. Today, he saw a doctor and was prescribed pain medicine. Before he even made it home from the doctors office, they cancelled his prescription and told him that because he was still taking suboxone from rehab, that they can never and will never prescribe any pain medicine to him again for the rest of his life! We are at a loss and don't know what to do. We are trying so hard to find out whats wrong with him and how to fix the problems causing his pain, but in the meantime his pain interferes with his life greatly. His hand swells up and becomes stiff, he gets a sharp shooting pain in one of his hips and his knees and shoulders are both stiff and in pain very often(he had a shoulder reconstruction done on his left shoulder). It gets to the point where the pain becomes so extreme he becomes dizzy and/or nauseous, he becomes sleepless and often crys. Is there any way we can lift this 'drug seeker' label from his record and get him the relief that he needs and deserves?And yes we try other methods of pain relief for him, massages, compresses, over the counter pills/ointments, rest, and a healthier diet. I don't know why or if theres another he hasnt tried though.and I wish they did take care of our vets the way that they should. he was discharged because of the shoulder injury that lead to a surgery because it was easier to replace him than to fix him and keep him. the VA constantly gives him the cold shoulder, I've witnessed it so many times and it just makes me sad.


Doctors won't prescribe pain meds to my boyfriend?
I just started taking Lipo 6 Black Hers yesterday to boost weight loss results with proper diet and exercise but it's given me heartburn that has lasted all day and continues now. I am going to lower the dosage of diet pills for the next few days, but I hesitate to completely stop taking them because, 1 they were expensive and 2, I'm reading good reviews on this and want it to work for me! well i havent had my period since july 28. i am always regular i have been ttc for 2 yrs. i am not under stress or on a diet or exercising. i went to a clinic like 3 weeks ago and they did a blood and urine test and came out negative but they still gave me prenatals pills. also they did a hormone balance blood test and everything came out fine. so now yesterday i went to the clinic and the did a urine test and came out negative also. so they gave me some prescriptions pills to bring my period down. i dunno is i should take them. i spoke to my mom and she notice a big change in my belly getting big and hard. i am a thin girl so u can notice i also gained 7 1/2 pounds in the 3 months. i told that to my obgyn and she was like "omg" lol i dunno what that means lol and i told her i have been having lower back aches and she said "omg" and ignore it and was just telling me about the pill. i think they think i am lying or something and its hard beacuse i dont have insurance. i also requested for a ultra sound and they told me for what. i am not pregnant. but i dunno i feel like i am i gained weight and that is very unnormal for me.

I am overweight. I asked my doctor, after some very very slow weight loss, to give me something to boost my weight loss. He prescribed me phentermine 37.5 mg. the bottle says to take one in the morning. Today was my first day taking it. I ate two pieces of toast and took the pill.At first I felt a little jittery but it didnt make me wanna get up and move. 3 hours later, I was asleep on the couch. I was hungry all day (though i didnt eat much) and i was incredibly sleepy all day. How is this possible? I dont have very much money and phentermine is relatively cheap. Any advice would be helpful, though I already am on a diet and I do excersize. I just have no energy and I'm not losing weight fast. (25 lbs in a year lost)

Okay, I am 15 years old and weigh 240 pounds. I am so overweight and very unhappy with myself. I have broad shoulders, and big bones, too. I need help & advice in my 6 year relationship!!!?
I had a UTI and they have done tests and say I no longer have one, but I was on Cipro a day late because I missed one dose at night, and continued to take it the next morning. Can missing one dose of Cipro 500mg cause the UTI to stay around or come back. My urine came back negative but I am not sure if the cipro can cause that test to be false or not, cause it was in my system? I still have some frequency and urgency and there is a little pressure under my kidneys but I have had gastrititis in the past and am thinking that could be it. It is not bad pain, just dull aching. Can gastrtitis cause that? It is especially on the left side. I can't get back to the doctor till tuesday and it is a clinic on campus cause I have no insurance. They are closed for the holidays. Also I am drinking cran-apple juice and water but I was told that cran-apple is not good. I took the cranberry supplement pills cause I can't stand the taste of regular cranberry juice, or these just as good? Should I stop taking the cran-apple? Okay so I have been on the Yasmin contrapceptive pill for over a year now. Over the holidays I didn't have time to buy new pills and had skipped my last period.. I went about a week with out pills. I have recently gotten more and have been taking them for 5days now. I am going over seas next week and do not want to skip another period as I know it's not very good for you. But I also don't want my period on the plane or while i'm away. If I start taking the pills that trigger your period would they work now so as I can get it before I leave?

i have been scared for the last month, i am so confused and unsure of what to do about my horrible pregnancy. I have been married for a year and a half now and im 4 months prego with my first baby. I weighed about 275 when i got prego, i dropped 30 by my second month due to severe sickness---Hyperemesis Gravidarum. my doctor started off giving me zophran, it didnt help at all. I went to the er one morning cuz i started vomiting blood from vomiting so much, he gave me a week supply of promethazine and since then ive went back for more. i have taken about 60pills and still taken them, it actually works. I have to take it about every 10 hours. or i will start vomiting anything and everything in my tummy. not only does it suck to throw up, when i throw up i feel like im going to faint, my body starts jerking so unusual and even after my stomach is empty, i dry heave for about 3-5 minutes. It hurts my back and i feel alot of pressure on my tummy. my eyes turn bloodshot red, and my face, i shake and shake uncontrollably. I have been doin research and discovered its a class c pill. One study of 260 pregnant women with hyperemesis gravidarum from the American Journal of Human Genetics did show that Phenergan was more strongly associated with late pregnancy loss than with relief from hyperemesis symptoms. I dont want to lose my baby. What do i do? i have read previous post about people who have taken it and their babies turned out fine. If you new my "luck" or misfortune you would be eary as well. I have always been the bad luck person. But thats fine, i just dont want a bad case for my baby. Also i read that it can cause the fetus or me to have a siezure. See, i am so unsure of what to do. I've talked to my mom about it but she's the only person i want to know about it. Hello my dear friend went to the Dr. on Monday 1/12. He hadn't been to the Dr in about 10 years. I know because of me he finally went! He is 25 and got a check up. They did blood & urine tests for practically everything. They did tell him the results would come in today. They did find his blood pressure a little borderline and just gave a low dosage of generic pill. They basically told him to lay off the salt & diet for a couple of months and he would be fine. Okay so they call him today and asked when he could see the Dr. so he could read him the results. For him to make an appointment for tomorrow, Friday or Monday. Why couldn't they tell him on the phone if it was bad or good? Should I worry? I tend to be a little paranoid just because they had found leukemia in his younger brother. i go to bed every night at around 12 AM. i end up falling asleep at 1-2AM. i have to get up for skwl at 7AM.i feel SUPER TIRED during the day.anyways to make me fall asleep faster? i tried a glass of milk, light excercise, heavy excercise, reading a book (which i finished), EVERYTHING and i still cant sleep.i also dont want to take pills or anything. im 14, and my parents wont let.i dont drink any coffee, i do drink decaf green tea, but never on a chool night, i dont eat sugar or carbs, or anything right before bed, but i chew sugar free gum. (mint)i get into bed and i cant slep. i tr closing my eyes, but im not tired, well i am, but i cant sleep, then, when im fully EXHAUSTED, then ill fall asleep. but thats after a couple of hourse or so. i need to fall asleep faster, but i just CANT. what should i do? please help! i dont have any help:(

I don't know about other Countries, just America. The rise of feminism and other aspects that push men into it in society, have made men more selfish. Men don't really find themselves with much of a role these days, nor growing up with as much of male role models. At one time, yes men went to war and such as a duty. Now, men join the military mainly for college loans, benefits, and cause he doesn't know what else to do, and doesn't want to be homeless or working at Mcdonalds. Going to war is something he hopes he wont do. Women don't have to go to battle, which make receiving the same benefits very unfair. That aside, look at all of the single mother homes. I grew up in a home with a non selfish step dad, but for the most part, my biological father was as selfish as selfish gets. He was never around, rejected me as his son, a drug addict, and even tried to kill me later. My cousin's father hardly ever spent time with them; mostly was worried about going out and drinking and gambling, and would show up once in a blue moon to take em to a movie or something, most the time not showing up when he said he would too. I bet you can find a number of similar stories to mine. Men have become way more selfish. I'm a man, and I know this. It's passed down I guess. I'm not as bad but I'll admit I'm pretty selfish; I like my things, computers, don't like to get involved with anything social, mainly cause I never fit in growing up and don't feel uncomfortable. I don't even have a girlfriend or wife, no nervous to ask one out. I don't work, live at home. I don't like working much, don't really want to serve in the military and get killed, nor was I too happy about signing selective service papers when I was 18. I honestly avoid people, and I'm very unsocial. Some men are not like this at all, but I do find that men have sensitive egos, like my ex-pasture, when I used to go to church, who barred me cuz my views of the bible didn't match his (his were definitely wrong). I was also kicked out of another church at that time, cuz according to him, I was too charismatic, and he didn't want people drawing attention to me... that's some crazy shit. I stopped going to church, probably, mostly cuz of selfish men. I agree. Most doctors stick by protocol who are men; they don't give you drugs, if you have had a case in where you did drugs once; wont even prescribe you pain pills or xanax for your anxiety. I found the first dr to actually have a heart and a realistic mind was a woman, who gave me some xanax. And, also, my female psychologist wasn't all that selfish either, doing free work for me when my insurance was out. I have never experienced this with males. MY male psychologist when I was 16 had a huge ego, and was always trying to get me to take antidepressants, and would get into arguments with me and raise his voice. He was a jerk in many ways. I've had many men compete with me cuz I was always a really good looking guy, as a teen, telling me that they were better looking that me when they were kids (nothing they could prove then eh; can't argue much; I was full of insecurity about this too; wasn't too nice of them). My grandmother was the only one who stepped in to make sure everything was going well with me, when my vietnam vet step dad and I would get into it and he'd threaten to kill me and bury me in a hole outside. I think men can be selfless, but for the most part, even the ones that are "selfless" can be made selfish real quick if you disrespect them or bruise the ego; females don't react this way, but will still actually try to help without getting in your face. And unfortunately, the thing about the fags, childmolesters, and perverts is also true. I like being a man, but fuck, now that I think about it, it kind of sucks.

My dad drinks like a six pack a day and has for many years. He said he started getting really stressed because of work. A few of his coworkers take xanax for anxiety and gave him a few pills one day. He said the pills make him feel a lot better, so he's been taking them for the past 3 months or so (I don't know if every day, or how many a day). We talked a few times on skype about the seriousness of mixing the meds with alcohol, but he just doesn't listen to anyone including me or his wife (my mom) except his coworkers who tell him it's okay to take the pills. He lives like 4 hrs away so I'm not able to easily go and talk to him. I'm stuck here, is family counseling the best way to go? What would be the next step?

What is the best birth control for an 18 yr old? Pills or injection?
My girlfriend and I have been dating for just a week short of a year. At first, we had regular sex, it was at least every other night, and then a few month's later (May) she decided to take the contraceptive pill. Her decision she say's was to stop painful periods and avoid having to use condoms. So she start's taking them and she told me that for a few week's she may be a bit messed up, so I'm fine with this, 6 week's later the period (or spotting?) end's and we have sex but have to stop shortly as it hurt's her because it's been a while. So a week later without any physical contact from her, she changes the type of pill she's on due to mood swings I'm fine with this and 5 week's later due to periods we have sex and again have to stop shortly due to it hurting again. A week later we attempt again but it hurt's her, a couple of days later she forgets to take her pill and is then on again for 4 weeks, 2 weeks after her being off her period we have sex and yet again it hurts (baring in mind there is more than enough of her own lubrication involved ), a couple of day's later I go on holiday/vacation for 10 days, come back and she missed another pilled and was on her period for around 6 weeks. This has led us to around December/january time, we had sex for the first time in 7 weeks the other night and I had to stop again due to the pain (She's had 6 partner's that I know of so it's not her first time when she first tried with me).Her pill leaflet doe's say 'lack of sex drive'. I am going to take a pregnancy test tomorrow. It will be 5 days before my period is supposed to come. I had unprotected sex on day 7 of my cycle, after missing 3 birth control pills. I think I ovulated early, and that is why I'm taking the test before my peiod. Should I wake up early to go to the store and get the test and take it before school? Because I have heard first morning urine works the best. Or could I wait until the evening and get the same accuracy in the result? Any info would be great.
