Can tramadol be used as an injectable for dogs?

My dog is on Tramadol, but it's next to impossible to get her to take it. I know it can be injected in humans, can it also be injected in dogs?

Yes there is. Have you ever tried putting the tramadol in the middle of a hot dog? a scoop of ice cream? peanut butter? Injectable pain killers are alot more money than the pills. You should call your vet and talk to him about the options. You might be able to find something easier. Or cheaper that will do the same things.

Your vet is not going to give you an injectable drug.Liability reasons will prevent them from do it.Tramadol is bitter but dogs usually will eat it if its in a pill pocket.Pill pockets can be obtained at the pet store or your vet.Hiding it in cream cheese,butter or a piece of meat may also work but first try the pill pockets.

Has anyone ever became addicted to tramadol?

i'm asking because i was addicted to vicodin for a long time and now i'm on tramadol and get a buzz off of it. the last thing i want is to be addicted to another pain killer. i take this for my osteo arthritis. any thoughts on this matter?

Yeah it does give you a buzz. OA is really painful as you well know, but I suppose most of the painkillers that are effective probably can get addictive. The trouble is, your OA won't go away so you will probably always need painkillers from time to time. he best thing to do is to talk to your doctor, who may be able to monitor you more closely? There are doctors specializing in chronic pain that may be able to prescribe exactly what's right for you.

tramadol is very bad for you . i use to be on xanax and i got addicting to it and then i switch to tramadol and the same thing happen . What i did do is take half of it and maybe take it every other day but not every day .

If you have a history of addiction, you are likely to be addicted. You should discuss this with your doctor and maybe he can change your medication. The longer you take something, the more likely you are to get addicted.

A few drinks after stopping tramadol?

I recently stopped taking tramadol a few days ago and ive got a date coming up and i thought it would be okay to have a couple drinks. would it be safe?

yes, it would be safe if you stopped a few days ago. you should be fine. although i have drank 2 beers hours after taking my medication, it really isn't recommended. i called the pharmacist to ask just to be on the safe side and he said that if it had been several hours since my last dose, a couple of beers would be ok but certainly no more than that. good luck on your date and have fun!!!

I am sure that You would be ok, but what I suggest that you do is remember , you know you can still order the drink and just ask for the same thing without the alcohol. I am sure your date would be just as nice to you with or without alcohol.You may enjoy it better.I dont know any other specifics to give you a straight answer. like how long you have been on the medication, howeverjust dont take any with a drink. Good luck and I hope you feel better. (what i mean is whatever you were taking that medication for, glad it isnt necessary at this time.
