so my mom has anxiety and shes had it now for 20 years of her life off and on. This is long but just please read. So my mom has been suffering with this practically a long time now and no doctor or nobody cant seem to help her with what she has.Just prescribes medication and on with their lifes. Okay so my mom had gallstone surgery before and when she went through the surgery after she had to remove her gallbladder from all that because they fkd her up pretty bad. Okay so after they gave her a pain medication through a shot that fully blown her nerves and she doesn't remember what it was called. before all of this she still had anxiety but not as bad as after the shot they gave her. No it was not morphine. So anyways my moms brother had died which was like her son, and at that point she pretty much lost it. She stood in bed practically for 3months straight crying and the doctor prescribed her medications for all this. Alprazolam 2mg twice a day or as needed my mom took up to 5 a day on top of that she took oxycodones for her bad migraines and she took about 8 of them a day not all at once though of course, yes she did abuse her medications but she wanted to get rid of her anxiety because nothing was helping her. So for about 7yrs she was on her medications. They gave her many drugs for her anxiety like if she was there guinea pig. She has tried Zoloft which caused her to think crazy So she stopped them,Prestiq which made her mind mess up totally practically causing my mom to be fkn retarded she stopped them. Cymbalta she took for a while thinkin they helped also with her aprazolams and oxys and soon stopped them, Symbyax took them thought they worked.. they didnt. So my mom turned herself into detox because she thought it was the meds making her go crazy. they cut her cold turkey off of everything. while she was in there she got shots of anti psychotic medicines which caused her to be Slow and sick because of course my mother is not schizo or bipolar. she got out and they prescribed her lorezapams and high blood pressure pills. saying if she took theese correctly her anxiety would go away, it didnt and soon she stopped taking everything except amitriptilines . she still has anxiety and she dont know why at alls shes tried everything and her doctor seems like he just doesn't want to deal with her and prescribes her nonsense pills from which she gets sick from even worse in the long run. They said she also has a thyroid problem in her neck and she thinks thats what could be causing her sickness but she dont know what to do anymore. Can somebody please help me? im going crazy. I love my mom very much so and for her to be hurt from all the things they do to her sickens me bad. I hate hearing her tell me how sorry she is i hate hearing her crys at night. oh and just the other day my mom went to her son of a b doctor and he prescribed her a medication called seroquel saying oh yea it works with ur nervousness and irritation and will help you sleep. well before she went and got them out something told her to look it up. It was a antipsychotic drug once again. My Mom fills hopeless. And i need answers on what i should do?

Well what a drama this has been, how the hell I keep up my spirits I will never know. Just seen the surgeon re disco-graph, pain/problems with disc above, annular tear, already have scar tissue after 2 op's L4/L5, my feet are back and what a delight, thank you, only problem is they tingle and burn. I want a 4 level fusion, surgeon says NO, maybe 3 level but not at the mo......he is keeping me on the edge..Severe disc degenerative disease L2 to S1, 4 levels..oops..I'm only 41 but I've had enough....!!!!!, having neuro cord stimulator put in in a few months I hope..? re funding..?. Very positive leg/feet pain will go.....Oh please..!!! not sure on the back...Oh my back burns...!!!! sitting watching TV feet tingle, back burns, Oh what have I done, "can't sit still for love or money" Think of a ball bearing replacing my disc and when I bend/sometimes walk or turn the top half is shifted from the bottom, Yuck, I have to sit down each time, it takes my breath away....! having panic attacks when out, started to use wheelchair also helps with pain but the backs burns...! Off gaberpentin due to liver, now back on, sod the liver it is robust, on morphine tablets and Oramorph........still the thigh pain front is a nightmare.! Mental torture.......! Popping pills like they are sweets..! I just knock myself out with sleepers/amtriplyline (Oh what life savers) Told GP, he understood, ( what a star..!) I feel like my life is coming to a end, why oh why the pain....? Before you ask, NO, I am NOT trying to overdose... I'm not suicidal. A good friend of mine that I've known for years (since I was six) recently died of an overdose of MS-Contin 15 mg pills. We don't know how many he took (I know the LD50 in humans), but I'm just wondering whether or not he suffered.So: Is an overdose of extended release morphine a painful/slow way to go? Would he have been aware of what was going on?Thanks so much for your answers!!Also (although I know the LD50) does anyone know how many he would have taken? His family is trying to find out whether or not his death was accidental (he was known to fool around with street drugs on occasion) or intentional. He was also depressed.
Question about MS-Contin ER (Extended release morphine)?
I have had what the ER doctors are calling a migraine since Friday. I was prescribed butalbital/apap/caffeine on friday. when I went back to the ER today because my migraine proceeded once the morphine shot wore off they gave me two valium pills. The pain is still grueling and I want to know if I can take the butalbital while the valium is still in my system.
Is it safe to take butalbital/apap/caffeine with Valium?

My father called me early in the morning saying that he was at the hospital with kidney stones, the doctor gave him 2 shots, 1 with morphine, he is home now and the doctor gave him some pills, and if they don't work till 11:00 (It is 8:30 now) he will be admitted to the hospital, is there anything dangerous about it?PS: The medication didn't work, he is being admitted to the hospital

I was pregnant, 13 1/2 weeks in. Monday afternoon, I started getting pains in my stomach, they werent too bad though, and sorta came and went. but around 7 or 8pm, they started coming regularly and more painful. I thought maybe they are like braxton hicks, or whatever they are called. So, I did everything I could find to try and make them stop. Laid on my left side, walked around, drank plenty of fluids and sat/laid in every position imaginable (comfortably anyway). by 1230A, I decided to go to the hospital, because they were getting worse and were only about 2-3 min apart. I told them what they were, I knew I was having contractions. They listened to the baby's heartbeat and it sounded good, 180 bpm. So, they decided they were going to give me 6 mg of morphine and send me to the next hospital so i could get an ultrasound of my appendix (its 415A by the time I get there). I sit in the ER there for an hour before they bring me in for an ultrasound, still convinced its my appendix, and still in excruciating pain. When they did the ultrasound, baby was still ok, and they couldnt see anything wrong with my appendix, so they gave me a shot of something 10X stronger than morphine to try and stop the pain (it didnt help). 45 min later, my water broke. 5 min after that, I started bleeding, they listened to the baby again, and his heart was still beating, but 10 min later, he came out. I had told them over and over, these felt like contractions, I had already had 1live baby, so I knew what I was feeling. Why didnt they listen to me, and couldnt they have stopped the contractions from happening with a shot/pill? My baby shouldnt have died, he was healthy, i took my vitamins, ate healthy and didnt do any drugs/drinking (i dont anyway).Thank you all

What can 60mg of morphine do to you? Will it cause severe damage or an overdose? Also, will Cyproheptadine (a sleeping pill) effect it in any way?

I am currently hospitalized for an attack of acute intermittent porphyria. Normally, I get 4 mg Dilaudid IV every 4 hours or 10 mg morphine an hour on one of those drip bags. That is the only way I can be comfortable during the attack.At this hosp, the dr. has been giving me 2 mg of dilaudid. It was not enough to get rid of the pain, but I tried to tolerate it. A new Dr. came on shift and cut me back to 0.5 mg dilaudid, which does nothing. He also tried giving me a vicodin pill, which is less effective than dilaudid, even though I've been throwing up nonstop and have not eaten in over two days.I screamed for 1 1/2 hours so he finally gave me 1 mg of dilaudid, but it is barely taking the pain away. I've never had this problem before as most dr.s know AIP is very painful and needs lots of pain meds. Who should I talk to about this? How can I get the meds I need?I'm not a drug seeker! Do your research before you throw out accusations like that. The attacks last 3 - 5 days for me, usually, and I've always been hospitalized the entire time because i needed treatment with glucose and panhematin. I never take pain meds home. Once I'm well enough to leave the hospital, I don't need further narcotics. The dr.s know this as they are currently treating me with glucose and panhematin so I doubt they think I'm a drug seeker.My point about the vicodin was that it's oral, and it's kind of hard to take a pill when you're throwing up nonstop. I'm pretty sure if someone with cancer was asking this same question, you wouldn't be calling them a drug seeker.Btw, I meant screaming in pain, i.e. heavy crying, not screaming as in yelling at people.

I can't think of the name of the pain pill that is orange... It is usually used for pain. Can also be used to take someone off of morphine. It is also an opium blocker. Starts with a C. Anybody know?!
