Hey guys I wonder who ever reads this could just read through my essay and tell me what you think, and what i need to do thanks:)and could you also help me with getting a title?:)“I'm short”, “I'm too tall’’. I would be happier if was skinnier, fatter, had bigger muscles, smaller ears, had straight hair or curly hair’’. Do any of these statements ring a bell? Are you used to criticizing yourself? If yes, you are not alone. Many people suffer from self image, especially teens and I blame the media. The media can have a low self body image on women, it concentrates so much on how thin women should be and there are so many advertisements with women who are very thin, women that you would think you could never be. And this can lead to many eating disorders such as Bulimia, anorexia nervosa and overeating. These eating disorders are very serious and are usually caused by body image problems and what you see in the media. Teens especially struggle with body image problems, they feel as if they NEED to be thin and toned to be excepted in society, and to have a boyfriend, and/or be popular(having lots of friends). The media places so much emphasis on being thin that it causes society to think that being thin is the norm and that a person is healthy if they are thin, which is completely not true. Many people struggle with body image, when they look at magazines, watch movies, or view commercials they would think “I wish I looked like that” “I wish I had her breasts”, “I wish I had abs like that guy” and so on. For example, when a woman goes to the checkout counter at a grocery store there is almost always a magazine with statements on the cover such as, "Lose 10 pounds fast", or "5 steps to a thinner body", wouldn't you want to check that out?And the people who grab that magazine are definitely struggling of poor self esteem, and I'm sure that stuff is not true. Another media issue is with advertisements for diet pills and food including nutrition bars and drinks, I mean come on, can't someone just be happy and go on a healthy diet and live life being happy? Advertisements push the sale of diet pills and food everyday, there isn't a day where I don't see that stuff on TV they're everywhere. Women feel that taking the diet pills is a great way to lose weight so they can fit in and be skinny, but what they don't realize is that advertisements are looking for attention and a way to become rich. Here are some facts from dosomething.com that I found interesting about body image:Twenty years ago, models weighed 8% less than the average woman. Today, they weigh 23% less than the average womenThe average American woman is 5’4” tall and weighs 140 pounds. The average American model is 5’11” tall and weighs 117 pounds. If Barbie was a real woman, she’d have to walk on all fours due to her proportions. About 7% of 12th grade males have used steroids in order to become more muscular. If GI Joe were human, he’d have larger biceps than any bodybuilder in history. One out of every four college aged women has an eating disorder. It is estimated that 40-50% of American women are trying to lose weight at any point in time. Americans spend more than 40 billion dollars a year on dieting and diet-related products – that’s roughly equivalent to the amount the U.S. Federal Government spends on education each year! Almost half of all women smokers smoke because they see it as the best way to control their weight. Of these women, 25% will die of a disease caused by smoking. In 2007, there were about 11.7 million cosmetic procedures performed in the U.S. Ninety one percent of these were performed on women. A study found that 53% of thirteen-year-old American girls are unhappy with their bodies. This number grows to 78% by the time girls reach seventeen. Poor self image also occurs in teen boys and men also, not just women, surprising huh? Some guys out there think that not having a “six pack” or and “eight pack”makes them uncool and not fit, not wearing Holister and Abercrombie means that they have no style, and not having clumps of gel in their hair makes their hair look bad. What happened to loving yourself for you are, not what others want you to be?
Could you please revise my essay, its really short?
Hi im 15 years old and I read this article about "Acai Berry Diet Exposed" and this lady volunteered to take this diet to see if it was a scam and it worked. She took LeanSpa Acai pills and Natura Cleanse pills. She took them once a day. I just want to know if its safe for me to take this supplements to lose weight.Check them out here they are: LeanSpa Acai: http://www.tryleanspa.com/ Natura Cleanse: http://colon.getslimpackage.com/us/trial/
Is it safe for me to take this supplement?
I'm 16 and last time i checked I weigh 135 or around the 130s, my height is 5" 6" or around 6 and higher. Though said being at the right weigh and heigh for my age, I have flabby legs, arms, love handles and around my neck. I know my limits and I do like a little fat but not too much of it to be a model figure. So, I want to start a diet to lose a bit of that fat but I have no idea on how to start. Here are the things I rethought that I may be doing wrong: -I don't eat at the right times (morning, afternoon, and night, I just eat whenever I feel like and whatevers left thats easy to make)-I overeat whenever I'm stressed or don't have anything to do or talk to-I eat mostly fat like chips, chocolates, red meat -I'm mostly all day on my computer-I'm lazy-I'm extremely shy, long story short, I grew up in my country, moved to US when I was 8, stayed there for 8 years, came back and its like learning my native language all over again, so NO friends just class mates, meaning that no friends to go out to the mall or whatever, meaning no walking excersize, and stress of not having anyone to talk toThings I may be doing right:-Whenever fruits are avalable, like apples, I eat them twice a day, I LOVE fruits and vegies-Whenever I'm not on the computer, I either go to school (walking to 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm) or go outside and play soccer, sometimes tako (like baseball) but usually once very 2 or 3 weeks -I have noticed my mistakes and try to take on a diet but never works out in the end-I practice street dance in my home when i feel like itThat's pretty much it I guess. I finally blowed when I see all those other girls happy with a confident body shape and me with blobber sitting there. I dearly want to start a healthy diet but have no idea on how.So I'm asking how, please help.I found this website on google, is it a good follow plan?http://www.howtodothings.com/health-fitness/how-to-start-a-healthy-dietI have no allergies, and no health issues, so its ok with the doctor thing I guess, but I want my diet to be natural without any pills or whatever.I still live with my mother so its not easy cause I try to ask her to start buying healthy things (she too wants to lose weigh but never has to guts to do it) so its kinda hard to find something "on the diet list"But, what should I start eating? Do I have to start waking up in the morning to eat at the right times? How do I start if so, if not, then what do I do?How many times should I excersise and what? these are the questions that bug me and won't let me do my diet.please help and thank you SO SO much if you did. Also, I forgot to say I am obssesed with water, I always have a bottle with me, drink it all the time so im pretty hydrated
How do I start a healthy diet?

http://www.annecollins.com/eating-disorders/statistics.htmStatistics on Eating DisordersGeneralEating disorders, like anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating, are becoming increasingly prevalent throughout western countries. According to US estimates from The National Institute of Mental Health, between 5 per cent and 10 per cent of girls and women (i.e. 5-10 million people) and 1 million boys and men suffer from eating disorders, including anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, or other associated dietary conditions. Estimates suggest that as many as 15 percent of young women adopt unhealthy attitudes and behaviors about food. In addition:An estimated 10 per cent of female college students suffer from a clinical or sub-clinical (borderline) eating disorder, of which over half suffer from bulimia nervosa. An estimated 1 in 100 American women binges and purges to lose weight. Approximately 5 per cent of women and 1 percent of men have anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, or binge eating disorder. 15 per cent of young women have significantly disordered eating attitudes and behavior. It is estimated that 200,000 to 300,000 Canadian women aged 13 to 40 have anorexia nervosa and twice as many have bulimia. Studies suggest that 5 to 10 percent of people with anorexia or bulimia are males. An estimated 1 in 3 of all dieters develop compulsive dieting attitudes and behaviors.Of these, one quarter will develop full or partial eating disorders. In the UK, nearly 2 in every 100 secondary school girls suffer from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa or binge eating disorder. Due to the incidence of co-occurring medical conditions, it is almost impossible to specify the morbidity rates for eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia or binge eating. However, general estimates suggest that as many as 10-15 per cent of eating disorders are fatal for those affected. Each day Americans spend an average of $109 million on dieting and diet related products. Many eating disorders go unreportedBecause of the guilt and consequent secretiveness of eating disorders (esp. bulimia and binge-eating) it is likely that many instances go unreported. Thus a higher incidence of eating disorders is almost certain.Increased social pressure to be thinAccording to studies into diet, weight loss and body shape, many individuals feel dissatisfied with their body shape, and develop sub-clinical / borderline eating disorder attitudes and behaviors. For example, 80 per cent of American women claim to be dissatisfied with their appearance and shape, and 1 in 2 American women are on a weight loss diet. The prevailing standards of body weight and shape, as revealed in the use of abnormally thin models in the media, continue to emphasize the idea that "thin is beautiful" and (one suspects) only make things worse for adolescents and adults with borderline anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorders.Attitudes to weight, shape and diet in pre-teens and teensFor example, 40 per cent of 1st, 2nd or 3rd grade girls want to be thinner. And 80 per cent of 10 year olds are worried in case they become fat. In another survey, 70 percent of 6th grade girls surveyed said that their concern about their weight, shape and diet started when they were aged 9-11.In addition:In a study of children aged 8-10, approximately 50 per cent of girls said they were unhappy with their size. In a study of girls aged 9-15, more than 50 per cent claimed they exercised to lose weight, nearly 50 per cent claimed they reduced food intake in order to lose weight, and approximately 5 per cent claimed to use their parents' diet pills or laxatives in order to lose weight.
