Tramadol is not a narcotic like other pain relievers such as percocet and vicodin. I've heard of people being addicted to it but it's not a true addiction like with real narcotics. Ultram, or tramadol is not something I've heard of being used to treat chronic pain, usually I see it prescribed temporarily, like for sciatica or a back sprain or something. You shouldn't have a problem coming off of it! As far as the length of time to use it, I don't know of any long term effects coming from using it all the time, but I'm unsure!

i have been taking tramadol for 2 years now and i ran short one time and let me tell you it wasn't fun at all. besides my back pain i was physically sick like 911 sick! it is very addictive! worse than methadone oxycodone or any of these to come off off.

i usually take 5-50 mg tramadol for chronic leg pain, i also have vicoden on hand but im out of tramadol and not sure how much vicoden to take to compensate for the tramadol.

Yes, it generally will boost you mood. no, its not physchedelic or hallucinogenic.Its not terribly dangerous, but as with any drug, it has its risks.DO NOT TAKE IT IF YOU ARE ON ANTI DEPRESSANTS. You risk serotonin toxidrome.Chances are, if your opioid naive, it will make you feel somewhat queasy, give you constipation and cause unusual dreams if you attemp to sleep under its influence. It's generally quite safe, and is OTC is some countries... But your probably best to avoid taking any drug that you dont know the very basics about...i.e. asking if this opiate is a psychedelic...EDIT the lowest dosage in the literature when taken alone in a person with no seizure dosage for causing a seizure was 700mg...F**kwit below me can stop his over drama, yes?
