Has anybody any advise on what to expector whats to happen regarding me going cold turkey on tramadol?

im going cold turkey from tramadol on saturday 22nd november.has anybody got any advise on what to expect and what to do to make it easier.been thinking twice about going cold turkey but ive used a months supply in two weeks so i dont think i will get anymore of my doctor to ween myself rather than go cold turkey,thanks!!

i say go cold turkey, i abused opiates for about 2 weeks but the negetives outweighed the positives (constipation being the biggest factor), but luckily i never get that with tramadol. i would reccomend going cold turkey to shock your nerves into being able to feel again.

If you can try reducing dose slowly before going cold turkey to make it easier. Tramadol isn't as addictive as other opiates so you shouldn't have to much trouble.

Did anyone else notice judgment issues with tramadol?

I was perscribed Tramadol to deal with pain. I have polycystic kidney disease along with that I took two of them they are 50mg a piece and I felt as if I couldn't understand questions and that I wasn't in the right mind to. It also felt as if it was still in my system 3 days after the fact I couldn't see straight I was very moody and it was terrible. So basically I want to know how it effects my judgement and everything else any answers are welcomed.

I remember feeling a little bit dippy when I first started taking Tramadol, but I got used to them quickly and that goodness i did. I am much happier taking them than a full narcotic pain reliever. Although everyone reacts to medications differently and this may not be right for you. Maybe you shouldn't take 2 at a time. I started off on 1 50mg tablet every 4/6hrs.Talk to your pharmacist I have found that they always give the best answers!!

Some adverse effects of tramadol are confusion, impaired coordination, depression, and mania symptoms. Also, since you are renally impaired, you probably should have just taken 25- 50 mg. Drugs affect people differently and I suggest you call your doctor and have the drug changed.

How can i tamper off safely from the use of tramadol 50 mgs?

50mg a day? That's not a whole lot. I think the smallest pills in production are 50's.Maybe try taking one every other day, or even instead of taking 50mg a day, take 50mg every 26 hours - then 30 - then 35... The time of day you take the pill will get later every day, but it'll be gradual. You have to be careful with getting off Tramadol not only to avoid opiate WD's, but also because it is has a slight ability to limit synaptic reuptake of serotonin (kinda like a an SSRI antidepressant). This could lead to depression/suicidal thoughts during tapering off. Be careful and maybe see what a nurse or doc has to say. Just call a hospital triage center and see if they can direct your call to someone who can help.If you are taking more than 50mg a day, then slooowly reduce your dose day by day (week by week?). ex. Take one fewer pills in a 24hr period for a week or so - then reduce by one more.If this stuff isn't prescribed for you, face-to-face access to a doc will be more difficult. (Duh.) Just go slow and try to keep a supply on hand to counter WD's or depression. Don't be afraid to call a chemical dependence specialist for advice (if things have gone that far).Tramadol isn't your average opioid (serotonin activity), countering WD's with Hydrocodone or Codeine won't help with the depression if you are taking a lot of it (~200-300mg a day).Good luck, and remember, call someone who can give you a more solid answer if you are at all concerned. (My expertise is limited and shouldn't be a substitute for that of a doc.)
