Is taking tramadol in doses of 50 100mg dangerous if one is to do it for only a few days?

It seems to me like any of the users that are getting into trouble with this drug are taking much higher doses than this. So is it really all that bad for you to do it at this lower, but still very enjoyable, level?

Tramadol's usually prescribed dosage is 50 mg. 3 times a day. Even at that low dosage people are becoming physically dependent on it. Search tramadol and you will find a lot about addiction and detox from it. If you have ever been dependent on narcotics or benzos, it's not a good idea to take it. If it has been prescribed for you, don't take more than what is prescribed, and not for more than a few days.Many people who became physically addicted/dependent did not take more than the prescribed dosage. I've done a lot of research on tramadol because I am in recovery, and it's gotten a lot of recovering people in accidental trouble. Why take the chance?

What do tramadol pills look like?

I just received an order of Tramadol 50mg pills from an online pharmacy. I just want to verify that they are the real thing (from appearance). They are small white oval pills that have 377 imprinted on one side of them. Is this what Tramadol is supposed to look like?PS: I have no reason to suspect I am being ripped off. I am not sure about the 377, but they are very small flat white pills with the slit in the middle for cutting them in half. Trust me, you;ll know when you take them if they are the real things, they will knock you out!!!!

It depends on the manufacturer. Some are round, oblong and oval. NEVER buy pills from an online pharmacy. Most ARE rip-offs. Call your local pharmacy and describe the pills to them. They will confirm that you have the right medication. In the meantime, don't take any until you know.I have to tell you in my experience, the people who buy online medications are drug addicts who do not have valid prescriptions. Otherwise....you would just take the script to your local pharmacy and get it filled. The DEA watches these online pharmacies and if you got something illegally....you ARE going to get caught. I wouldn't want to be you if that's the case. When you least expect it, the police will arrest you.

Vicodin is a combination of Tylenol and Hydrocodone bitartrate which is an opioid analgesic and antitussive with unknown mechanism of action but it is thought to be related to the presence of opiate receptors in the central nervous system. It has an action similar to those of codeine which mostly involve the CNS and smooth muscle .Tramodol is a centrally-acting opioid analgesic that exerts its effect through the inhibition of norepinephrine and serotonin reuptake .Both are used for acute and chronic pain, and both have addiction potential. If your MD is prescibing these medications for you, either should be readily available at your pharmacy. Take precaution whe using Vicodin, because of the Tylenol content. Tylenol is toxic to the body if you take an excessive of 3000-4000mg per day. Also, I would suggest you talk to your MD about non-narcotic medications that may prevent you fom getting headaches. Beta blockers, Tricyclic antidepressants, Valproic Acid, Calcium channel blockers and Topamax are all known to have some measure of effectiveness in preventing chronic daily headaches. As with any medication, please use with caution, and under the supervision of an MD.

there is a huge difference between vicodin and tramadol, Tramadol is very weak and if you have severe or really even moderate pain. it wont help that much at all. I definatley would pay the extra, its worth it

Why is it easier to get both require a prescription. you can get generic vicodin .just like tramadol is generic for ultram.but both can be addictive

Yes, you will have withdrawl symptoms if you discontinue Vicodin. Taper your dose slowly, and take the Tramdol as prescribed. You can take them together, it works pretty well. I took Tramdol for a while with OxyContin, but I had to discontinue the Tramdol due to seizures. No one connected the two until my third seizure.

Ultram (tramadol is the generic name) is a narcotic because it blocks the mu-opioid receptor. This is the exact same mechanism of action as morphine, codeine, etc. The main difference is that tramadol is not addictive and isn't associated with quite the same side effects (respiratory depression, bradycardia, constipation).

Ultram or Tramadol is NOT a narcotic. Go to 10 different sites and at least 3 will call it a narcotic. The other 7 will call it non-narcotic. I don't want it to become considered a narcotic. I like the fact that people think it is just a weak opioid. This way I can enjoy the sweet euphoria I get from relatively small doses of this unique pill. 627 all day man,627....
